The research is aimed to take inventory on Medical Herbs which are potential to be grwons in the area of Tawangmangu, Karanganyar. The research is also aimed to discover Intellectial Property Rights (IPS) on medicinal herbs and their breeds. The research used empirical method with structured interviews to collect primary datas. Next, the collected data is analyzed using content analysis. The result of the research concluded that there are large amount of medicinal herbs grown in the area of Tawangmangu, Karanganyar. But the IPS protection on the herbs is not optimalized yet. Keywords: Optimalization of the Medicinal Herns Protection
