Reengineering of business processes and organizational effectiveness

Abstract

V dinamičnem in turbulentnem okolju je potrebno podjetje, njegove procese in organiziranost v podjetju nenehno prilagajati in izboljševati. Poslovno okolje sodobne organizacije označujejo nepredvidljivi poslovni dogodki in hitrejše spremembe. Podjetja zato iščejo načine, kako se uspešno in učinkovito prilagajati spremembam. Podjetjem se je že ta trenutek potrebno prilagajati okolju, ki bo nastalo jutri. Ravno ta odnos med podjetjem in okoljem postaja ključno vprašanje preživetja in uspešnega poslovanja. Zato bo vsako podjetje, ki bo hotelo dolgoročno igrati pomembno vlogo na trgu, moralo slej ko prej uvesti spremembe v svoje poslovanje. Eden od načinov uvajanja sprememb je reinženiring poslovnih procesov. Reinženiring poslovnih procesov je korenito preoblikovanje procesa s ciljem drastične izboljšave kazalcev učinkovitosti. Reinženiring poslovnih procesov ni za uvajanje katerekoli spremembe, ampak za uvajanje spremembe, ki je za podjetje drastična in korenita. Pri izvedbi reinženiringa poslovnih procesov ima veliko vlogo za učinkovito in uspešno izvedbo reinženiringa poslovnih procesov vključenost in podpora managementa, lastnikov ter zaposlenih. Zato je ključno, da pri izvedbi uporabimo motivacijo in ostale prijeme za zmanjšanje odpora zaposlenih do reinženiringa poslovnih procesov, ki največkrat izhaja iz straha pred spremembami. Uvajanje sprememb z uporabo reinženiringa poslovnih procesov je osrednja tema magistrske naloge. Na primeru podjetja je prikazan model reinženiringa poslovnih procesov oziroma uvajanje sprememb s pomočjo njega. Prikazani so pozitivni učinki uporabe reinženiringa poslovnih procesov oziroma pozitivni vplivi na organizacijsko kulturo, zahteve kupcev in na poslovanje podjetja.In a dynamic and turbulent business environment, it is necessary for companies with all its processes and organizational structure to constantly adapt and improve. The business environment of modern organizations is defined by unpredictable events and fast changes. Therefore companies are looking for ways how to effectively and efficiently adapt to the changes. Company needs to adapt to the changes today for the changes which will happen in the future. This relationship between the company and the environment is becoming a key issue for the company’s survival and viability. Therefore any company that wants to be a long-term player and wants to have an important role in the market will need to implement changes in their business. One way of introducing changes is with the use of reengineering of business processes. Reengineering of business processes is radical transformation of process with the aim of drastic improvements of performance indicators. Reengineering of business processes is not for the introduction of any changes but for the introduction of drastic and radical changes for the company. Involvement and support of management, shareholders and employees play a key role for the effective and successful implementation of reengineering of business processes. It is therefore crucial that we use different motivation techniques and other strategies to reduce employee’s resistance to reengineering of business processes and fear of change. The introduction of changes with application of reengineering of business processes is a central theme of this master thesis. On the business case of the company we show model of implementation of reengineering of business processes. We have shown positive effects of the use of business process reengineering and positive impacts on organizational culture, customer requirements and the company\u27s business
