Abstract

With this paper we tried to analyze some of the conditions behind the story about the meeting between two European travelers in the land of Sinai in the late Middle Ages, included in one of the most famous Travel Book from that era: Andanças e Viajes of Pero Tafur. References to the Italian merchant, Niccolò dei Conti, allow a comparison with data given by the great humanist Francesco Poggio Bracciolini, although alluding to purely biographical aspects which are completely hidden in the work of the ItalianCon este trabajo hemos tratado de analizar alguno de los condicionantes que están detrás del relato del encuentro entre dos viajeros europeos en las tierras del Sinaí a finales de la Edad Media, incluido en uno de los Libros de Viaje más célebres de aquella época: las Andanças e Viajes de Pero Tafur.
