MODEL ADAPTASI EKONOMI NELAYAN KAWASAN TAMBAKLOROK SEMARANG

Abstract

This study discusses abaut the adaptation pattern of regional fishing economy at Tambaklorok Semarang. Despite being in the area of Semarang, fishermen Tambaklorok including traditional fishermen, depend on natural resources and must be confronted with a sub-system of the city. This study uses the concept of economic adaptation which is defined as a process of human behaviour in maintaining the economic, so the concept of work is interest in economic activity. The research was done through literature, followed by collecting data through field observations and interviews. The results of this study indicate that the fishing profession is no longer a major public profession. The young people in thi area are employed on the ground sector, while the older generations still carry out their economic activities as fisherman. The young generation work in the Fish Auction Place (Tempat Pelelangan Ikan/TPI), as workers in traditional markets, shop and stall keepers, and become workers in some industries that are around in Tambaklorok, Semarang.
