The iPEG is a teaching material used as an introduction to interprofessional education. Although this educational material promotes cooperation among health, medical care, and welfare, many cases primarily focus on medical care. This study developed the Nihon Fukushi University version of the iPEG (iPEG-NFU), which emphasizes social welfare topics. In July 2024, we implemented the iPEG-NFU in the Medical Services Course of the Faculty of Social Welfare at Nihon Fukushi University. Questionnaires were administered before and after the implementation, yielding valid responses from 35 students. In the post-test, over 90% of participants positively evaluated their degree of enjoyment, satisfaction, and cooperation with fellow students. Furthermore, their understanding of their own profession and interprofessional roles significantly increased from before to after iPEG-NFU. The post-test also indicated an increased willingness to learn about their own profession, other professions, and interprofessional cooperation in the future. Therefore, the iPEG-NFU may be highly feasible and demonstrates a certain educational effect as an introduction to interprofessional education.
