What: Prof. Martha Nussbaum’s talk, "Creating Capabilities: TheHuman Development Approach," will investigate a new theoreticalapproach: the "capabilities" or "human development" method,discussing reasons for preferring it to standard approaches andlooking at debates it has engendered about cultural pluralism anduniversality. The Lowe Lectureship at at Macalester College wasestablished in honor of Arnold H.
