St. Paul, Minn.— A lecture–recital about Dmitri Shostakovich’sPreludes and Fugues, Opus 87 will be presented by Macalester music professor Mark Mazullo at Macalester Collegeon Friday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the Janet Wallace Fine Arts Center Concert Hall.The lecture–recital is based on Mazullo’s book “Shostakovich’s Preludes and Fugues: Contexts, Style, andPerformance” (Yale University Press, 2010). Mazullo is chair of Macalester’s Music Department as well as anaccomplished pianist and piano instructor.No reservations are required and there is no admission fee. The lecture–recital is cosponsored by the Chopin Societyof Minnesota.
