Announcement and Call for Papers PET 2008 Seoul, Korea, June 27- 29, 2008 The Association for Public Economic 
Theory (APET) is pleased to announce that it will hold its Ninth international meeting In Seoul, Korea June 27 to June 
29, 2008. The conference will start with a tour of Seoul and a welcome reception on June 26, and will include a gala 
dinner on on June 27 with traditional Korea performances and a reception an June 28. We will also be arranging 
additional tours on June 30 for those off you who are interested. Please go to the conference website for more detailed 
information on the schedule, events, accommodations, and to submit your paper: www.APET.org The submission 
deadline is March 1, 2008. The main purposes of the Association for Public Economic Theory (APET), the 
association of the Journal of Public Economic Theory, are to promote public economic theory generally and to foster 
interaction between theorists, applied and empirical researchers in public economics and related fields. The organizers 
will therefore welcome papers in all areas of economic theory and of public economics (broadly defined). You may 
also be interested in a special event just before PET08 to be held at the National University of Singapore. Please see 
the announcement below. We hope to see you this summer! Youngsub Chun John Conley Myrna Wooders Special 
issue and small conference NUS, Singapore, June 24-25 2008 APET in partnership with NUS will sponsor a small 
specialized conference limited to approximately 15-20 presentations on the topic of: Charity, Altruism and Voluntary 
Contributions. This will be held at the National University of Singapore, June 24 and June 25, 2008. More details will 
be posted as they become available at http://www.accessecon.com/pubs/PETLASO/ The organizing committee will be 
chaired by Professor Parkash Chander, Chair of the Economics Department of NUS (ecsparka@nus.edu.sg) in 
collaboration with John Conley and Myrna Wooders. In addition, JPET will be publishing a special issue on this topic, 
for which Professor Chander will be a guest editor.
