LH supermarket is a typical comprehensive supermarket enterprise. It also encountered the same problem. The development situation of LH supermarket is a microcosm of the development of Chinese comprehensive supermarkets.      Many enterprises of comprehensive supermarket of our country made some innovative attempts in how to cope with their difficult position, but these innovative measures generally have little effect. The most important reason is that these enterprises have not analyzed the causes of their difficulties and have not combed the forms of their difficulties from the angle of market competition environment.  Besides, they have not used effective marketing theories to guide them in innovation activities and made the innovation measures be empirical measures of simple reaction to their difficult position.      This paper aims to study and explore how the comprehensive supermarket format of our country can effectively cope with their difficult position. The main research method is to analyze the causes and forms of the essence of their difficult position by the Five Forces Model from the angle of the competitive environment of comprehensive supermarkets of our country firstly, to analyze how the LH supermarket can cope with its difficult position with Target Marketing Theory and 4Cs Marketing Theory secondly, to present the comprehensive supermarket enterprises of our country with beneficial enlightenment about how to effectively cope with their difficult position finally.  Through researching, it can be found that if LH supermarket positively innovate to establish its competence from five angles of customer, suppliers, competitors, potential competitors and substitute with Target Marketing Theory and 4Cs Marketing Theory, then, it is likely to effectively cope with its difficult position. The case of LH supermarket can present the comprehensive supermarket format of our country with beneficial enlightenment. 超市的企业发展背景 LH 超市是一家专营超市的国有商业有限公司（以下简称 LH 超市），其发展过程大致可分为以下几个阶段。 1. 产生初期阶段 LH超市于1991年成立，其第一家分店开设于我国某一线大城市。当时的首家分店以经营食品和日用小百货为主，辐射的商圈范围直径大约1公里，功能仅限于为周围住宅小区居民以及周边流动人口提供零售服务，是一家典型的小型超市。 2. 以小型超市形式发展阶段 LH 超市因为起步于一线大城市，当时发展空间极大。自 1991 年成立第一家分店之后就开始以极快的速度连锁扩张，在该城市各区遍地开花。因为其超市规模以及经营的品种迎合了当时的顾客需求，到 1994 年左右，门店数就发展到了数十家。此后，LH 超市向该一线城市的周围省份扩张，逐渐成为知名的全国性零售企业。 3. 以大型综合超市形式扩张阶段 2000 年前后，正是大型综合超市开始在我国形成和快速发展的时候，LH 超市抓住机遇，涉足大型综合超市。此期间开设的门店面积多在 1万平方米以上，经营单品数达到 2 万左右，商品类别涉及生鲜、杂货食品、家百、纺织、家电等，品类齐全，单店员工数在 200-300，商圈辐射半径达到 5 公里以上。2010年前后，LH 超市经营面积超过 1万平方米以上的门店数量在全国已突破 100 家，年销售规模达 200 超市部分门店出现销售下滑、盈利状况不佳的现象，在继续新开门店的同时也不得不开始着手关闭部分亏损严重的门店，全国总体门店数量基本停滞不前。2010 年之后，情形更加明显，全国总体销售开始出现下降趋势，尤其是近年（2012 年前后），销售下滑更加明显。此阶段 LH 超市经营管理面临较严峻困境，有较深的发展危机感以及创新应对的迫切感。 二、LH 超市所处的行业及业态发展背景 LH 超市所处的行业是零售业，业态类别归属于零售业下的综合超市业态。该行业以及综合超市业态在我国的发展经历了显著的两个大的阶段。 1. 高速发展阶段 20 世纪 90 年代初期起，我国零售业开始进入全新的发展时期。此后近 20年时间里，该行业快速经历了起步、发展、扩张、繁荣、剧烈竞争等不同阶段。尤其是 2000 年至 2011 年期间，是中国零售业---特别是综合超市业态发展壮大的黄金时期。具体表现有： （1）零售业业态丰富 零售业经过多年发展，已经形成了众多不同形式的业态，如百货店、品牌专卖店、品类专卖店、综合超市、标准超市、24 小时便利店、士多店、折扣店……等等。无论是繁华的商业街道还是安静的生活小区，到处都分布着各种各样的商业店铺，满足着各式消费者的各种不同需求。而其中，无论是从销售规模、门店数量还是客流数量的角度看，综合超市都在众多的零售业各业态中备受瞩目，是零售业中极具影响力的主要业态之一。 （2）综合超市发展迅猛
