Bronchography Outmoded? A Radiologist Comments

Abstract

Dr. Mary Ellen Avery's very timely commentary, "Bronchography: Outmoded Procedure?" (Pediatrics, 46:333) deserves a few comments by a pediatric radiologist. One of the problems with pediatric bronchography in the United States is that there is insufficient experience with the appropriate performance of this procedure and therefore there are only very small series available. Most of the large series are in the European literature and the perusal of that literature clearly indicates that this can be an excellent procedure and it can also be done safely.1-3</jats:p
