EUROPEANA: AN EVOLVING RESARCH RESOURCE  Jill Cousins Europeana, the European Digital Library   Abstract: The speaker presented a short demonstration of the site and then discussed what is being added and its immediate future.  Keywords: digital libraries; Europe; multimedia  Europeana, the European Digital Library, was launched in November 2008 and is still in prototype. It should be fully operational by July 2010. It already includes almost 5 million items from about 1,000 institutions across Europe, and this is growing. It is a kind of super-aggregator and includes many multimedia items. Everything is open source.  The website is http://www.europeana.eu.
