BRUGGEREnglish Edition PE 58.037/finBy letter of I February 1979 the President of the Council of theEuropean communities requested the European parriament, pursuant toArticles 43 and loo of the EEC Treaty, to deriver an opinion on theproposal from the Commission of the European Communities to the Councilfor a Council directive establishing measures for the implementation ofDirective 77/489/EEC on the protection of animals during internationaltransport.The President of the European Parliament referred this proposal tothe Committee on Agriculture.At its meeting of L9/2o February Lg'79, the Committee on Agriculturedecided to apply the procedure without report.on 16 l4arch L979, at the request of Irrr pisoni, Mr Ligios andIvlr Brugger, the European Parliament decided not to adopt the procedurewithout report. The proposal was referred to the corunittee onAgriculture, pursuant to Rure 27A (7) of the Rures of procedure.on 4 ApriL L979 the committee on Agricutture appointed Mr p.
