The purpose of this article is to present the sources used by the Champollion brothers and the interpretations they put forward, in their successive publications, at the different stages of their work of reconstructing pharaonic history. attention is focused on the names and kings « seso- stris » and « ramses », but the kings symandyas and sethos, merenptah and amenophis are also studied
