A Gift Given Within A HeartFamine and marauders who seekFor something more than one could bearVengeance and revenge for mutiny thatBecame of this land.Wars fought and blood shed on theEarth’s beauty.How she cries, begging for her childrenTo cease their  re.Become one as she has told you to;Have what you've learned from herMeant nothing?Through a cascade of darkness,A light shines through.The laughter and joy sought afterBecomes anew.Swords clank on the ground andSoldiers fall to their knees,Forgiveness is what they need.At the end of the war, the worldSeemed to have stopped.Time stood idly as the worldStood in awe.What they were missing was the greatestThings of all: kindness.It goes a long way to repair what was once lost.Something within yourself and others that can beBrought again.Along with helping hands andHearts made of purest gold.The warm, fuzzy feeling within yourselfThat was idle for too long.A gift everyone holds within themselves,But perhaps don’t know until it reaps what it shows.For what I know you for,You were given the greatest giftOf all: a kind heart.
