Value Creation Innovation and Productivity of Deposit Money Banks in Rives State, Nigeria

Abstract

This study examined the relationship between value creation innovation and productivity of deposit money banks in rives state. The cross-sectional survey was employed and a population two hundred and four (204) of 17 Deposit Money Banks were covered. The sample size was determined using the Krejcie and Morgan (1970) table. Copies of questionnaire were administered to respondents. The simple random sampling technique was employed and data was analyzed using Spearman's Rank Order Correlation Coefficient. The findings revealed a significant relationship between the dimensions of value creation Innovation (leadership capabilities and new technology/equipment) and productivity. It was concluded that organization that indulge in value creation innovation in terms leadership capabilities and new technology/equipment tends to yield an increase in the service quality in a due time and overall productivity. The study recommended amongst others that Management of Deposit money banks should engage in value creation innovation that will inform their decisions and actions towards enhancing better performance and productivity
