La fisioterapia es un campo biosanitario que está cobrando mucha fuerza en el panorama
mundial y que no goza de la importancia que realmente tiene. Su función es aplicar la
rehabilitación a pacientes con enfermedades o lesiones para restablecer el mayor movimiento
posible de la parte del cuerpo perjudicada. En el ámbito de la traducción, el trasvase de un
idioma a otro en textos de este tipo no es frecuente, aunque jueguen un papel fundamental en
el momento de la comunicación entre personas.
Los objetivos de este estudio son destacar campos de la traducción biosanitaria
inexplorados y ofrecer un estudio de problemas identificables en este tipo de textos para orientar
posibles traducciones e investigaciones futuras que sigan esta línea de trabajo.
Con el fin de cumplir los objetivos, se siguió una metodología basada en un corpus
compuesto por diez textos de fisioterapia en inglés con la traducción al español y un análisis –
textual, terminológico y de errores– que examinó la calidad de las traducciones en base al grado
de especialización, terminología y errores hallados.
En base a los resultados que se obtuvieron, se concluyó que los textos seleccionados no
contenían errores graves y las dificultades terminológicas fueron por lo general solventadas sin
problemas. Por otro lado, se observó que no existen apenas páginas oficiales sobre fisioterapia
que estén traducidas a otro idioma que no sea el inglés, además de constatar que la traducción
de textos de esta índole no es común debido a que no interesa o no existen medios para pagarloPhysiotherapy is a healthcare related field that is gaining momentum on the world stage

The aims of this study are to highlight unexplored areas of healthcare translation and to
offer a study of identifiable problems in this type of text in order to guide possible future
translations and research along these lines.
In order to meet the objectives, a methodology was followed based on a corpus
composed of ten physiotherapy texts in English with their translation into Spanish and an
analysis -textual, terminological and mistakes analysis- that examined the quality of the
translations based on the degree of specialisation, terminology and mistakes found.
Based on the results obtained, it was concluded that the selected texts did not contain
serious errors and terminological difficulties were generally solved without problems. On the
other hand, it was observed that there are hardly any official pages on physiotherapy that are
translated into a language other than English, in addition to the fact that the translation of this
