escolhidas.
Both the organizational culture and the recruitment and selection process are themes of
accentuated importance for the recruiters/selectors and for their respective companies. A R&S
that has only in account technical and functional competencies for an opening, forgetting a fit
between the organizational culture and the personal values of a candidate, leads, often, to a
failed process and, therefore, a possible decrease to the worker’s commitment and, even, a will
to leave, since it is extremely difficult to integrate a new employee that doesn’t identify himself
with the beliefs and attitudes experienced daily in the company.
With this study, we intended to understand if the recruiters/selectors identify an influence
from the organizational culture on the recruitment and selection process and in which ways and
occasions, of this process, is this influence felt. Consequently, we reached the investigation’s
question, “For the recruiters/selectors, how much influence does the organizational culture have
on the recruitment and selection of new workers?”.
For the completion of this dissertation, we adopted an investigation of qualitative nature
through the execution of case studies in seven companies. We resorted to the interview in order
to collect data, having been done seven interviews with recruiters/selectors of the chosen
companies.
The completion of this investigation allowed proving the importance that the
organizational culture and the recruitment and selection process have for the companies in a
strategic level. All the more, it allowed concluding that, in fact, there is an accentuated influence
from the organizational culture in the recruitment and selection. According to the interviewees,
this influence is felt in all of the recruitment and selection process, but it is more accentuated in
the identification of the candidate’s profile desired by the organization, in the image that the
organization spreads to the outside, in order to attract candidates more easily, in the choice of
the selection methods to use, in other words, the technics chosen are the ones that also allow to
analyze characteristics like values and the personality of the candidates, and, still, in the moment
of the final decision and choice of the candidate(s) that will be admitted by the organization
