Primer reporte de Scaevola sericea y S. plumieri (GOODENIACEAE) en la península de Guanahacabibes, Cuba. Acercamiento a la historia natural de una invasión biológica en un área protegida

Abstract

Based on the recent findings (2012 and 2013) of individuals of Scaevola plumieri (L.) Vahl and S. sericea Vahl species, belonging to Goodeniaceae family, by the first time we reported the presence of both species in the Managed Resource Protected Area Peninsula de Guanahacabibes; findings are documented and some aspects of the observed distribution to date of both species in the peninsula are analyzed and discussed, providing criteria about the dispersion of the distribution scheme that is shaped for them in Guanahacabibes; this allowed to infer some aspects that can contribute to understand the natural history of the invasion of S. sericea in the territory, which is showing a faster and wider dissemination; about it we recommend actions for the control and management of this invasive alien species as new aspects to be considered in the Management Plan.Partiendo de hallazgos recientes (2012 y 2013) de individuos de las especies Scaevola plumieri (L.) Vahl y S. sericea Vahl, familia GOODENIACEAE, se reporta por primera vez la presencia de ambas en el Área Protegida de Recursos Manejados Península de Guanahacabibes; se documentan los hallazgos, se analizan aspectos de la distribución observada hasta el presente de ambas especies en la península y se discuten criterios de la dispersión según el esquema de distribución que se va conformando de las mismas en Guanahacabibes; de ello se infieren aspectos que pueden contribuir a la comprensión de la historia natural de la invasión S. sericea en el territorio, la que va mostrando hasta el presente una diseminación más rápida y amplia; se sugieren acciones de seguimiento para el control de la misma como nuevos aspectos a considerar en el Plan de Manejo del área
