How long?This last year, as we began to be hopeful, the Omicron variant en-tered our collective experience. We’ve learned to be more resil-ient, but how long? We’ve learned new technical skills, but how long? We’ve adapted caregiving, but how long? We’ve supported students as faith com-munities struggled with safety and protocols, but how long? We’ve creative-ly reconstructed classroom experiences, but how long? We’ve grieved the loss of collegial in-person conferences and trainings, but how long?We believe the extreme constraints may be providing an opportunity for creative expression. Reflective Practice wants to foster this by provid-ing the encouragement for stepping away and releasing your best creative energies to imaginatively engage the formation and supervision opportuni-ties that lie ahead—however long it may take to get there. Vol. 43 provides the blue-sky space, the blank canvas, the dreamer’s playground to imagine how the work that we do could tap into new pathways and practices, enliv-en with traditioned innovation, or envision whole new vistas for formation and supervision.The invitation extends to all our creative colleagues, CPE Educators, Theological Field Educators, Practical Theologians, Spiritual Directors, So-cial Scientists and others to imagine formation and supervision afresh.Essays, poems, visual art, and case studies outside of the theme are also welcome.
