In this activity, students will examine the physical characteristics of several types of air masses (bodies of air that resemble the characteristics of the land surfaces beneath them). By analyzing maps of air temperature and of dewpoint temperature (prepared by the teacher), they will discover that air masses can be identified and defined by their temperature and moisture content.
