The emotional factor in the interaction between the user and the Revista Ibero-Americana de Ciência da Informação - RICI

Abstract

This study aims to identify the emotional interaction between the user and the interface of scientific electronic journals. An experiment was conducted with the Ibero-American Journal of Information Science. This journal uses the Electronic Journal Publishing System (SEER). Data collection involved undergraduate students in Library and Museology of the Faculty of Information Science, University of Brasilia. The students performed a task whose purpose was to identify the emotional factor in the interaction with the interface. Data analysis discusses an approach using the usability concept and the three aspects of emotional design suggested by Norman:  visceral, behavioral and reflective.
