Kontrol
grubundaki öğrencilere nazogastrik sonda yoluyla beslenme konusu sınıf içi öğretim ile anlatılırken
deney grubundaki öğrencilere aynı konu hipermedya yöntemiyle anlatılmıştır. Hipermedya yöntemi;
The study was randomized controlled trial conducted with the aim of determining the effect of
hypermedia training on nutrition with nasogastric tube of students. A total of 60 nursing students,
who registered the Fundamentals of Nursing in the Spring Semester of 2016-2017 Academic Year of
Semra and Vefa Küçük Health College, Nevsehir Haci Bektaş Veli University, were included in this
study. The students were divided into two groups, 30 of whom for control and 30 of whom for
experiment using randomized method according to their academic achievement level and gender.
While the subjects of the control group were explained by the nazogastric tube feeding through the
classroom teaching, the students in the experimental group were told the same subject with the
hypermedia method. Hypermedia consists of text, video, animation, case, self-assessment, resources,
information test and motivation scale. The web site with hypermedia is open for a week so that the
students in the experimental group can enter the system any time they want and from where they
want The data in the research were collected using the "Nasogastric Tube Nutrition Practice
Knowledge Test", "Nasogastric Tube Attachment Skill Checklist", "Nasogastric Tube Nutrition
Practice Checklist" and "Instructional Material Motivation Scale". The knowledge and skill levels of
the students in the control and experimental groups were measured twice immediately after the
lecture and one week later. The skill assessments of the students were made by using Objective
Structure Clinical Examination. The written approval was obtained from the ethical committee and
the faculty in order to perform the study. Informed consent was obtained from students participating
in this study. The data were statistically evaluated using the tests Mann Whitney-U, Wilcoxon and
spearman s corelation. The mean scores of the students in the experimental group from the nutrition
knowledge test and the skill check list were significantly higher than students in the control group (p
<0,05). The mean score of the self-evaluation points and the points they got from the motivation
scale of teaching material of the students in the experimental group were found higher than students
in the control group and the difference was found statistically significant (p<0,05). As the number of
students entering hypermedia increases, the average score of the information tests and skill check
lists increases. As a result, it was found that hypermedia method in nursing education has a positive
effect on teaching nasogastric tube feeding. As a result, it has been found that hypermedia method
has a positive effect on knowledge, skill, self-confidence and motivation in nursing education. For
this reason, it is suggested to use the hypermedia method as in-class teaching support
