For many years, work on the internal parasites of sheep has been carried out in JL Australia, and the knowledge gained has placed this country well to the fore on this work. These are continuing investigations because of the problems involved but scientists in Australia have amassed a tremendous amount of knowledge in this field.
On the other hand the problem of internal parasitic infestation in cattle which has been, and still is, the cause of serious loss, particularly in young cattle, has not been given the same attention and it is only in recent years that there has been any detailed research into the various problems relating to these parasites
