In 1999, CNN.com reported that women who gambled increased 20% between 1994 and 1998. This figure doubled the percentage growth for male gamblers. The e-Commerce Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance organization polled 11,000 online gamblers from 96 countries and found that the average online casino player is 54.8% likely to be female (“Biggest-ever study,” 2007).
