An overview of a database of cyclic tests of masonry walls is firstly presented in this thesis.\ud The objective of the analysis of the database was to estimate the relationship between the\ud damage and displacements of the masonry walls. A discussion on the typical failure\ud mechanisms of masonry walls and definition of damage states is then presented in the first\ud part of the thesis which addresses also the issue of rehabilitaiton and strengthening of\ud masonry walls by different techniques. The aim of the thesis was to estimate costs of\ud rehabilitiation and strengthening of masonry walls. For this reason six From the base of cyclic\ud tests were selected from the database and analyzed in more details. The cost of reparing the\ud damage in masonry walls was estimated and compared to the costs of construction of new\ud wall. The results have shown that the procedures and reparing costs depend on the damage\ud and the type of masonry. The cost of repairing of damaged walls per unit area is greater than\ud the cost of replacing the wall or the cost of new construction. Therefore it not likely that hollow\ud brick masonry will be reapried in the case of extensive damage

The paper presents results of a comparison of seven different machine cost calculation methods presently used mainly in forest operations cost calculations. The compared methods have a common basis structure, but differ in methodology and item consideration. From the premise of equal inputs and byconsidering yearly productive time on the case of a cableway, the comparisonshows differences in machine costs and thus lesser comparability of machine economy per product unit. Input data for the comparison of cost calculation methods were acquired through machine calendar time monitoring andwork study. According to the compared calculation methods, the material costs per unit of wood extraction can differ by more than 50% in 1,000 machinehours. The major differences are due mainly to the different proceduresconsidering variable costs. The used calculation methods should be born in mind in economy criteria interpretation and particularly in view of competition on the single labour and services market

Ex-post cost-benefit analysis of investment projects as an integral part of construction project management

Investments have crucial importance in the development and growth of the company. The volume of investments and their performance significantly determine the economic conditions in the future, and have long-term consequences on business and its success as well as the entire economy. Since the resources for the investments are usually limited and usually the main objective of investment is a profit or at least adeguate level of benefits, it is important that the project preparation considers all possible factors which affect the success of the investment. Therefore, there are different methods for assessing the effectiveness of the investment applied. Usually the prediction of the effects of investment (ex-ante) is being performed less often one can see the analysis of the effects of investment and the analysis of the effects of investment analysis (ex-post). Analysis of the effects of investment is extremely important, as it allows for corrections and improves the prediction of the effects of the following investments their corrections in the thesis, I have focused primarily on ex-post analysis, which analyzes the performance of the investments after they were developed. The focus is to determine whether the investment achieved its objectives in the framework of foreseen costs and time or there is unforeseen factors that have a negative impact on the final result. Ex-post analysis in their findings also considers the previous (ex-ante) analysis. I have presented an example of ex-post analysis of Bolu Mountain Tunnel, which was conducted three years after the completion of the project. Unfortunately was the availability of the ex-post analysis of the investments in Slovenia quite limited

In this graduation thesis has made an assessment of rental one bedroom apartments in relation to different distance from Ljubljana. Analyzed are freely formed rent one bedroom apartment on the route Ljubljana - Vrhnika - Logatec and the cost of driving to work in Ljubljana. The calculation of transport costs were taken into account as a means of transport by train, bus, car and bicycle. We wanted to know whether the differences in the average rent in the discussed locations go beyond the individual cost of driving to work, or at what distance from Ljubljana would rational renter has rented a one bedroom apartment. With the help of the basic descriptive statistics, we analyzed the obtained data and compared it. Based on the analysis, we found that the present pattern of differences in average rents do not exceed individual costs driving to work for the busy pair. This means that the student pair is most profitable to rent an apartment in the municipality of Logatec if the means of transport chose bus or train. If they choose the car fot the means of transport turns out that one bedroom apartment with transport costs in the municipality of Ljubljana - Part Vic is cheaper compared to renting apartment with transport costs in the municipality of Logatec. For the busy pair is the best rent a one-bedroom apartment in the municipality of Ljubljana - Part Vič, as the transport costs in other areas considered higher than the difference in rents

Design and analysis of energy consumption in terraced houses in the Primorska region

In the bachelor of science degree thesis we deal with the design and estimate of energy efficiency of three terraced houses, which will be built in Portorož. Content of the thesis is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the static design of the building in such a way that it would be useful for future construction permit. Although the architectural design of the terraced houses is not considered as part of the subject, we are trying to find a functional and rational design to exploit space. The static design complies with the applicable European standards (Eurocodes). We use application softwares SAP 2000 (Computers & Structures, INC.) for static analysys and ArmCAD (Radimpex) to prepare concrete reinforcement plans. In the second part of the thesis we carried out an analysis of the total energy required for the operation of row houses. Let's focus on the need for energy for heating, cooling, domestic hot water and lighting interior spaces. Starting from the requirements of regulations on energy efficiency in buildings (PURES 2010) and then through the analysis of costing the cost of whole life cycle of the facility is calculated optimum insulation thickness
