Corporate social responsibility (CSR) implies that corporations integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations and in their interaction with their stakeholders on a voluntary basis. CSR鈥檚 component parts include: economic, legal, ethical and philanthropic responsibilities. Although social norms and ethics are inherent features of CSR the modern literature of economics and finance focuses mainly on CSR as a firm value-driver. Such narrow view may lead to the deterioration of CSR identity as well as underestimating the role of CSR in building welfare. Thus the purpose of the article is to show the role of CSR in achieving welfare improvements by considering social responsibility as a factor of prosperity and especially as a mechanism of ethically and institutionally anchored self-regulation supporting the organization of market failure correction reducing this welfare. The main thesis is that CSR brings about considerable benefits in terms of allocation efficiency, redistribution and stabilisation. The method employed is the analysis of international literature

The book is divided into five parts. The essence of behavioural finance is presented in the first parts. Fuzzy generalizations of some mathematical concepts are presented in the second part. The impact of selected behavioural premises for imprecise estimation of expected return is described in the third part. In the fourth part are considered financial instruments under uncertainty and imprecision risk. In the fifth part fuzzy probabilistic sets are applied for actuarial mathematics

Red. nauk. Wydzia艂u Organizacji i Zarz膮dzania: Lewandowski, Jerzy. Model finansowy (zwany r贸wnie偶 kapita艂owym) zyska艂 w贸wczas wielu zwolennik贸w, dlatego systemy emerytalne zacz臋艂y ewoluowa膰 od czystych modeli niefinansowych (pay-as-you-go, zwanych r贸wnie偶 repartycyjnymi), poprzez mieszane modele niefinansowo-finansowe (repartycyjno-kapita-艂owe), nawet do modeli finansowych w czystej formie (np. w Chile). Reformy zmierzaj膮ce w kierunku hybrydowych system贸w emerytalnych przeprowadzi艂y r贸wnie偶 kraje Europy 艢rodkowowschodniej. Jednak kryzys finansowy, trwaj膮cy od 2008 roku sprawi艂, 偶e w krajach naszego regionu nast膮pi艂 odwr贸t od tych reform. Systemy emerytalne zacz臋艂y si臋 ponownie stawa膰 bardziej publiczne, mniej prywatne. Pa艅stwo w coraz wi臋kszym stopniu przejmuje na siebie przysz艂e zobowi膮zania emerytalne. Podobnie dzieje si臋 w Polsce. Sk艂adk臋 do OFE obni偶ono w 2011 roku, natomiast w 2013 roku, w momencie, gdy przekazujemy t臋 ksi膮偶k臋 do recenzji, rz膮d publikuje raport z przegl膮du systemu emerytalnego, w kt贸rym sugeruje dalsze ograniczanie roli zarz膮dzanego przez prywatne podmioty i maj膮cego charakter finansowy II filaru systemu emerytalnego. OFE s膮 coraz bardziej marginalizowane. The financial crisis, which began in 2008, induced changes in long-term social and economic policies. Many European countries have gradually been withdrawing from reforms aimed at the financial character of their pension systems. Pension systems have begun to become again more public and less private. Countries increasingly take on the future pension obligations. This is also the case of Poland. Contribution to pension funds has been decreased and further reducing the role of open pension funds (OPF), managed by private entities and having a financial nature, is considered. Pension funds as the main element of the second pillar of Polish pension system, are becoming increasingly marginalized. The purpose of the monograph is a discussion on many questions emerging due to these tendencies, such as: what direction reformed pension systems should have in the near future; in what economic, demographic and legal conditions these reforms are carried out; who is a better guarantee of future pension payments 鈥 the state or the market; to what extent the financial markets should be used in the pension system, which system is better 鈥 financed by taxes or financed by contributions, and which model is better 鈥 of defined benefit or of defined contribution. A multitude of these questions illustrates how complex constructions 鈥 in economic and financial terms 鈥搈odern pension systems are, and how much their efficiency depends on demographics. Therefore, in the monograph, a multi-faceted approach to the pension issues is presented and according to this the content is divided into three parts. In the first part, entitled "Economic aspects of pension security", there are chapters on both foreign and Polish pension systems and their reforms. Among others, problems of measuring the effectiveness of pension systems are discussed, as well as the issues of the evolution of employee pension schemes as the effect of the global financial crisis, and the results the pension reform in Poland and its future, or the desired direction of change. The second part entitled "The financial aspects of pension security鈥 is mainly subjected to the problems of pension funds in Poland, including their portfolios and investment efficiency, their impact on the finances of the state, OPFs鈥 reporting requirements in respect of their members etc. This section also discusses the investment policy of voluntary pension funds and pension savings issues. Finally, the third part of the monograph 鈥 "Age and demographics and retirement security" 鈥 is devoted to the demographic problems. It includes chapters on the relationship between age and economic activity of population and the impact of demographic trends on the social and health security system, especially in the context of population aging

Projekt ok艂adki : Grochowska, DariaThis monograph considers the subject of design for logistics and its outcome in the form of a logistically efficient product. It is a comprehensive study which not only provides an analysis of selected theoretical problems but also discusses research methods and methodologies in the field [...]. The monograph is intended as the first step in research on identification of conditions underlying design for logistics and characterization of the concept logistic efficiency of products. One should hope that in spite of the many boundary conditions and constraints discussed herein, the introduced model of logistic efficiency of products will contribute to the strengthening of the competitiveness of manufacturing companies by demonstrating to designers the extent to which their work impacts on the effectiveness and efficiency of logistic processes down the line. The monograph also does the groundwork for the transformation of production processes for the fourth industrial revolution - Industry 4.0, where product design that considers technology, assembly, quality, and logistics will play a critical role
