Motor vehicle accidents have grown to be a major cause of death and injuries. We are developed occupant safety feature with an intension to reduce accidental injuries to occupants. After studying number of design plans and research papers, we have concluded to design and develop seat belt safety mechanism using spring and rope mechanism. In case of accidents, passenger lives can be saved greatly by use of seat belts and airbags in the automobiles. The safety implications of these systems and the stringent safety regulations in the world have brought a growing market to these products. The purpose of developing the project is to design alternate method of seat belt safety mechanism without changing the available space in the car and also to provide safety to occupants in those cars in which air bags and other safety system could not be implemented due to increase in cost. The actuating system design includes three point seat belt, spring, wire rope ,solenoid and locking mechanism

Image stitching algorithm based on feature extraction

This paper proposes a novel edge-based stitching method to detect moving objects and construct\ud mosaics from images. The method is a coarse-to-fine scheme which first estimates a\ud good initialization of camera parameters with two complementary methods and then refines\ud the solution through an optimization process. The two complementary methods are the edge\ud alignment and correspondence-based approaches, respectively. The edge alignment method\ud estimates desired image translations by checking the consistencies of edge positions between\ud images. This method has better capabilities to overcome larger displacements and lighting variations\ud between images. The correspondence-based approach estimates desired parameters from\ud a set of correspondences by using a new feature extraction scheme and a new correspondence\ud building method. The method can solve more general camera motions than the edge alignment\ud method. Since these two methods are complementary to each other, the desired initial estimate\ud can be obtained more robustly. After that, a Monte-Carlo style method is then proposed for\ud integrating these two methods together. In this approach, a grid partition scheme is proposed to\ud increase the accuracy of each try for finding the correct parameters. After that, an optimization\ud process is then applied to refine the above initial parameters. Different from other optimization\ud methods minimizing errors on the whole images, the proposed scheme minimizes errors only on\ud positions of features points. Since the found initialization is very close to the exact solution and\ud only errors on feature positions are considered, the optimization process can be achieved very\ud quickly. Experimental results are provided to verify the superiority of the proposed method

Archaeoastronomy is the study of astronomical ideas and their evolution over time. India has one of the richest\ud heritage of ancient monuments and documents that detail how human perspective has changed over the millennia.\ud Looking at these ancient remains it is possible to decipher the relative evolution of ideas and cross cultural influences. Here we present some\ud of these patterns that are discernible. However, absolute dating of ancient monuments that are more than 2 or 3 millennia old is not easy.\ud We therefore suggest that there is a need for scientific instruments to carbon date these monuments in order to understand the chronology\ud of evolution of scientific ideas

Experimental Investigation on Forced Convection Heat Transfer Augmentation Using Annular Blockages

    Get PDF
Abstract— Heat exchangers have several industrial and engineering applications. The design procedure of heat exchangers is quite\ud \ud complicated, as it needs exact analysis of heat transfer rate and pressure drop estimations apart from issues such as long-term\ud \ud performance and the economic aspect of the equipment. Whenever inserts are used for the heat transfer enhancement, along with the\ud \ud increase in the heat transfer rate, the pressure drop also increases. This increase in pressure drop increases the pumping cost. Therefore\ud \ud any augmentation device should optimize between the benefits due to the increased heat transfer coefficient and the higher cost\ud \ud involved because of the increased frictional losses.\ud \ud Experimental work on heat transfer augmentation using annular blockages. Inserts when placed in the path of the flow of the\ud \ud fluid, create a high degree of turbulence resulting in an increase in the heat transfer rate and the pressure drop. The work includes the\ud \ud determination of friction factor and heat transfer coefficient for various annular blockages and annular blockages having different\ud \ud diameter. The results of annular blockages having different diameter have been compared with the values for the plain tube. Four\ud \ud annular blockages (di=20%, 30%, 40% & 50% reduction in outer diameter) are used in the study

Disease diagnosis / Medical diagnoses is the process of determining which disease or condition\ud explains a person’s symptoms and signs. It is most often referred to as diagnosis with\ud the medical context being implicit. The information required for diagnosis is typically collected\ud from a case history and physical examination of the person seeking medical care. Diagnosis\ud is often challenging, because many signs and symptoms are non-specific.The term\ud Diagnosis refers to determination of the nature of a cause of a disease. In computer science\ud it is a typically used to determine the cause of symptoms and solutions. Our system enables\ud to deliver health care, diagnose patients, provide therapy, suggest medicines and gives health\ud tips related to users disease. The main aim is to provide expert-based health care to understaffed\ud remote sites and to provide advanced emergency to the user that is using the application

High Performance Concrete (HPC) is the latest development in concrete, But HPC not only\ud demands High cement consumption, which pushes the natural resources towards depletion,\ud but also increases C02 emission on a higher extent. In the recent year’s use of Supplementary\ud Cementitious Materials (SCMs) is increased due to environment concerns, conservation of\ud resource & economy because most of them are generally Industrial waste products such as fly\ud ash, GGBS & micro silica. One of the costliest constituent of HPC is ultrafine material such\ud as micro silica, alccofine. In recent years with the advancement in technology ultrafine fly ash\ud is now being produced which is cheaper ultrafine material but, with less literature available on\ud it. In available literature on Ternary blend concrete the level of replacement was restricted up\ud to 30%-35%.\ud In this Experimental Investigation an attempt was made to investigate compressive strength\ud (100MPa) of concrete by replacing Cement on 40%, 45%, 50%, by incorporating P100 fly ash\ud as an ultrafine material and GGBS.\ud Each replacement was further divided into three sub parts (40%F.A-60%GGBS), (45%F.A-\ud 55%GGBS), (50%F.A-50%GGBS). Among which 40% replacement of cement (50%F.a-\ud 50%GGBS) gave maximum strength. Nominal mix was prepared with only OPC with w/c of\ud 0.24.and all other ternary mixes was made on w/c of 0.2 to have an edge when compared with\ud strength of nominal mix.\ud Nowadays, soft computing techniques are used to predict the properties of concrete and hence\ud reduce the experimental work. Thus, a neural network also known as a parallel distributed\ud processing network, is used as computing paradigm that is loosely modeled after structures of\ud the brain. It consists of interconnected processing elements called nodes or neurons that work\ud together to produce an output function.\ud This experimental investigation presents the application of Multiple Linear Regression (MLR)\ud and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) techniques for developing the model to predict the\ud compressive strength of the concrete with SCMs. For this purpose, a systematic laboratory\ud investigation was carried out. The compressive strength was evaluated on various mixes for 3\ud days, 7days, 14 days and 28 days of curing period. The data generated in the lab was used for development of the MLR and ANN model. The data used in the models are arranged in the\ud format of four input parameters that cover the contents of OPC, FA, GGBS and w/c ratio\ud respectively and one dependent variable as compressive strength of concrete for both MLR\ud and ANN. Networks are trained and tested for various combinations input and output data\ud sets.\ud Keywords: High Performance Concrete (HPC), Supplementary Cementitious Materials\ud (SCMs), Fly Ash (FA), Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS), Artificial Neural\ud Network (ANN), Multi Linear Regression (MLR)
