The Internalization of Islamic Values in Pesantren
This article aims to describe the internalization of Islamic values in fostering akhlak (morality) of santri (Islamic boarding school students) in Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) Miftahul Muhajirin Cidadap, Pagaden, Subang. The Internalization carried out in the forms of religious activities such as farḍu prayers in congregation, sunnah prayers Qiyãm al-lail and Ḍuha, sunnah fasting on Mondays and Thursdays, and recite Yasin after dawn. The Islamic internalization process of Islamic values takes several steps namely transformation values; transaction values; and trans-internalization values. The overview of akhlak santri from internalization results obtained from questionnaires data distributed to 53 santri. From the questionnaire data, it was obtained the categories of akhlak santri; excellent students (52.83%), good (45.28%), and quite good (1.89%)
Strategi Kualitas Pelayanan pada Dinas Kependudukan dan Catatan Sipil Kota Bandung
The Bandung City Population and Civil Registration Service provides population services so that all elements of the Bandung City population are registered in the data base and the accuracy of the data is the most influential thing, because it relates to the voter list in elections. The quality of service in the city of Bandung has begun to enter the e-government stage where some of its activities have used technology such as using applications to obtain queue numbers, but the implementation has not run well because the server is still experiencing disruptions during rush hour and lack of public awareness about application USAge procedures In addition, the facility is also a factor in reducing people's motivation to report. This research attempts to analyze the strategy of the Bandung City Population and Civil Registry Service in providing services to the community, using qualitative methods with a descriptive approach and supported by SWOT analysis. The results show that the service quality strategy in the Bandung City Population and Civil Registry Service is still not optimal due to lack of socialization and supporting facilities that provide comfort to the people who will take care of the population documents
An Overview of Teaching Listening in Islamic Tertiary Level of Education
The ultimate aim of this paper is to depict listening activities in teaching Basic Listening designed by lecturers in an EFL classroom observation of Islamic tertiary level of education in Indonesia. Qualitative methods, used to collect and analyze data gained from observation and interview. The result showed that the lecturer designed various activities in teaching Basic Listening in the EFL class, which they were set up in three stages: pre-listening, while-listening, and post-listening. The activities in the pre-listening were aimed at generating students\u27 interest, activating student\u27s prior knowledge, and trying to anticipate any difficult vocabularies. The while-listening stage is to invite students to be involved at listening through various physical movements, such as story telling, dialogue, listening to songs, and drama. The post-listening stage is to internalize what they have heard with other language skills and to check students\u27 comprehension
Guidance and Counseling Based on Sûrat Al-Fãtihah
Among the forms of guidance and counseling development there is the emergence of Islamic variety based models of guidance and counseling. One of them is model of al-Fãtihah-Based Guidance and Counseling (FBGC). The model was developed from the belief that science in the study of the Qur\u27an, especially al-Fãtihah has its own place, both in the study of its name and its content. Because it was developed from sũrat al-Fãtihah, all the elements of the service, starting from the philosophical basis, guidance objective, material, procedures, counselors\u27 competencies and evaluation as well as indicators of the success of the service all are extracted from the contextualization of sũrat al-Fãtihah. This paper was developed from a study of literatures. After doing the library study, the writer concluded that the FBGC can be used as complementary service in the implementation of guidance and counseling at Islamic school to support the embodiment of the golden generation after one hundred years of Indonesian independence in 2045
Quality Assurance System Between the Islamic State University and the State University
The purpose of this research is to compare the quality assurance system in the Islamic State University at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) of Malang and The State University at Technical Institute of Surabaya (Institut Teknik Surabaya/ITS). The findings concerning quality assurance system cover; the reasons for implementing the quality assurance, the core value of quality planning, the quality assurance of implementation, the quality assurance of evaluation, the supporting factor of the implementation of quality assurance, the quality assurance strategy, and the result of quality assurance. This study uses exploratory mixed method research design with the developmental model instrument. While the process of this research starts with collecting qualitative data, then the extreme finding is followed by collecting quantitative data, and the end of this process is interpreting data together. From the qualitative data, it can be concluded that there is a difference between quality assurance in UIN Malang and ITS. The quality assurance in the institution management (X), the academic aspect (Y), and customers\u27 satisfaction (Z) was significantly different (significantly) between UIN Malang and ITS. Customers\u27 satisfaction at UIN Malang is influenced by the quality of management and academic with a larger proportion than in ITS
Character Education in Islamic Boarding School- Based SMA Amanah
This paper aims to describe findings of the study in pesantren-based SMA Amanah covering: 1) the principal policy in developing character education, 2) the methods used in developing character education, 3) students\u27 characteristics as the result of the character education process, 4) the problems encountered in the implementation of character education and the efforts made in addressing the implementation of character education at the school. This study applied qualitative method using descriptive technique. The data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings of study showed that: 1) the principal\u27s policy in developing character education was carried out by implementing government policies in line with the school\u27s vision, mission, and programs; 2) the methods used in the process of character education were through role-modelling, assignments and nurturing, habituation, training programs, and students\u27 participation in various types of activities, as well as the application of rewards and punishments; 3) the student\u27s characteristics resulted from the character education process were piousness and devotion as well as being able to apply their knowledge and piety in everyday life; 4) problems encountered in the implementation of character education were different values and norms students brought from home; imbalance of facilities compared to the number of students; as well as teachers\u27 readiness to actually implement the new program, which was character education. Meanwhile the efforts made to overcome those problems were namely developing personal, family, neighborhood or community characters, and making commitment of all related parties/stakeholdres of SMA Amanah
Internalizing Islamic Values in Electrochemistry Learning
The purpose of this paper is to describe a potential way of integrating the knowledge of electrochemistry with a story in the Al-Quran particularly in the sura of Al-Kahfi, verse 83-96. The story tells about an implicit understanding of the concept of electro chemistry. Having the story in the learning of electrochemistry is aimed to internalizing the spirit of Islam in the learning of electro chemistry. Using a classroom action research, this study involved 95 students who are taking the course of Basic Chemistry 2. This study used three instruments, namely: observation sheet of students activity, observation sheet of students attitute, and self-assessment questionnaire. Based on the data, the study found that students were considerably active in each stage of the learning process with the average of activitiy is 78% (good). Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Inkuiri untuk Meningkatan Hasil Belajar Mahasiswa pada Perkuliahan Dinamika Sistem
The purpose of this research is to find student learning outcome by applying the inquiry learning model for System Dynamic subject. The research method in the form of Classroom Action Research which is done in 2 cycles and 3 meetings for every cycle. In this research, the samples are 43 students of the Department of Engineering Physics, Telkom University, which become sample of this research. Student cognitive learning outcomes data were obtained through description tests, while affective and psychomotor learning outcomes data were obtained through observation sheets. The results obtained from this study, in the form of cognitive learning outcomes of students using inquiry learning models, are N-Gain values of 0.52 in the first cycle and 0.45 in the second cycle. Whereas for affective learning outcomes, there was an increase in the average results per class, from 85% in the first cycle to 93% in the second cycle. The same thing for the psychomotor aspect, the class average in the first cycle was 81% and in the second cycle increased to 88%. Based on the results obtained in the study, it can be concluded that the application of the inquiry learning model has an influence on improving student learning outcomes
Parents' Expectations of the Teaching and Learning Islamic Education
The focuses of this research is on parents' expectation of the teaching and learning Islamic Education among students of SDLB N Ungaran. The subject is Islamic Education teachers and the parents of students in SDLB N Ungaran. The methods of data collections are observation, interview and documentation. The technique of data analysis is inductive analysis. The result shows that the teaching and learning Islamic Education among students of SDLB N Ungaran is generally almost the same with the teaching and learning Islamic Education among students of general school. The difference is only in the psychological aspect. The majority of parents' expectation of the teaching and learning Islamic Education is the same: in order the students can understand and apply the subject of Islamic Education in their everyday life so that they can become the righteous children. The factors that support the teaching and learning Islamic Education among students of SDLB N Ungaran are the Islamic Education teachers' patients and meticulous, cooperation between parents, teachers and the school, the extracurricular subjects which are suitable with the students' talent and ability, and teachers' creativity in teaching and learning. The factors that hinder the teaching and learning Islamic Education are inefficient and ineffective time (not suitable with the students with physical disabilities), using the same curriculum with the curriculum in the general school, the low quality teachers, and the lack of teaching and learning facilities
Understanding the Cognition Process of the Students Using the Internet as a Learning Resource
This study aims to investigate how students search and process the information found on the Internet to meet the needs of their academic tasks as well as how they view such information compared to printed materials. The study was conducted targeting the student teachers at Primary School Teacher Education (PGMI) Program and Kindergarten Teacher Education Program (PGRA) in State Islamic University Sunan Ampel Surabaya. Such information search and processing are then later viewed through the lens of Blooms\u27 taxonomy. A qualitative method using the phenomenological approach is adopted in the study. Nine student participants of 1st, 2nd, 3rd-year classes were interviewed. The study indicates that the presence of the Internet as a source of learning has not shifted the role of the textbook as a primary source of information for the students while working on their academic assignments. It was revealed that the information search activities on the Internet have facilitated students to experience the four domains of the learning process in Bloom\u27s Taxonomy
