    Strategic Digitalization of UMKM Business As an Alternative to Survive in the Covid - 19 Pandemic

    The purpose of this study is to implement a business digitalization strategy so that micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) can survive the Covid 19 pandemic. This research method is descriptive qualitative based on UMKM survey data from the Katadata Insight Center (KIC) June 2020 in the Jabotabek area. From the results of this study it appears that UMKM business activities carried out with a conventional strategy (Offline System) contributed to a decrease in sales turnover by more than 30%. Meanwhile, UMKM business activities carried out with the strategy of digitalization UMKM (Online System) businesses such as Smart phones (PCs or lap tops) connected to the Internet only amounted to 3.8% of UMKM which experienced an increase in sales turnover. For this reason, it is necessary to build an infrastructure that supports the digitalization of UMKM in terms of online marketing of UMKM products

    Application of Grand Techno - Economics Strategy Based on Linear Programming in the Textile Industry

    The main objective of this paper is to review of the evolution of management science, overview of grand strategy and its linkage with the techno – economic as a tactics to trigger productivity to win global competition. A review of the relevant literature was conducted and a connection between management science, grand strategy and techno – economic based on the linear programming can be applied in the textile industry. It was found that the industrial world in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on the market which is increasingly shrinking and is plagued by a quite severe sluggishness. Simultaneously the labor productivity is getting weaker. This is what is known as the negative impact of the global financial crisis. Will the Indonesian nation be able to maintain the momentum of economic growth amidst the tsunami waves of the global financial crisis? A grand strategy that combines the roles of technology and economy (techno-economic) strategy based on linear programming needs to be implemented immediately. The success of the techno economic strategy cannot be separated from the role of three pillars, namely mastery of technology, productivity and competitiveness.     Politeness Strategies in Performing Commissive Illocutionary Acts in Joseph R. Biden's Inauguration Speech

    This research aims to explore the use of politeness strategies in the performance of commissive illocutionary acts in Joseph R. Biden’s inauguration speech. The politeness strategies were classified based on the theory of politeness strategies by Brown and Levinson (1987). The commissive illocutionary acts performed are promise, guarantee, and refusal. The result showed that there are 39 performances of commissive illocutionary acts that are found in the speech. The classification and analysis showed that out of 39 utterances, there are 17 occurrences of bald on record, 10 occurrences of positive politeness, and 12 occurrences of off-record. The result shows that, in delivering his inauguration speech, Biden tends to use the most straightforward way of speaking to issue an act

    Abstract The purpose of this research is to identify, analyze, and explain the essence and orientation of regional-based tourism development as a leading sustainable sector. The approach used is qualitative and quantitative techniques. The results showed that as one of the leading sectors in the Sinjai area is tourism, considering that the tourism potential in Sinjai is quite potential seen from three aspects, namely: 1) natural tourism potential consisting of 35 natural attractions scattered from each district, 2) historical potential and regional culture consisting of 71 tourist destinations, 3) man-made tourism potential and special interest. Tourism in Sinjai has taken a toll on the Co-19 pandemic so that the impact is quite concerning for the local government and local communities. Is there still the government's support and interest in developing the tourism sector, which is a challenge in its sustainability. It takes creativity, innovation and breakthroughs by the government in absorbing various changes and technological advances for future life

    Non-Native EFL Lecturers’ Strategies in Building Their Pragmatics Competence

    This is a qualitative case study that focused on elaborating the strategies used by EFL lecturers in building their pragmatic competence, the benefit they got after using those strategies, and how the lecturers built up students’ pragmatic competence in the classroom. Interviews, observation, and document analysis were the techniques of collecting data.  7 English lecturers were selected as the subject of the research.  The findings showed that the English lecturers used several strategies to build their pragmatic competence, namely watching western films, reading English novels, building communication with native speakers, and joining international friendship community.  Those strategies enriched their vocabulary or choice of words and idioms and trained them to speak natural English in a variety of communication contexts.  Students’ pragmatic competence was built by using films, top-down approach on pronunciation teaching, pair work speaking and small group discussion, using authentic language in meaningful context, providing corrective feedback, introducing fillers, conversation maintenance cues, and implementing responsive activities.  Pragmatic competence should be a leading goal for all those who teach ESL/EFL language, which simultaneously represents a challenging task as well.  Keywords: communication skills; English teachers; pragmatics competenc

    Problemas éticos vivenciados por enfermeiros gestores na pandemia da COVID-19 em um hospital universitário

    Objective: to understand the ethical problems experienced by nurse managers in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: qualitative study, conducted with 19 nurse managers. The inclusion criteria were nurses who had held a management position for at least six months, and the exclusion criteria were those who held an assistance position. Data were collected through individual interviews with a semi-structured script and document analysis and analyzed using Content Analysis. Results: the ethical problems were related to duplicity and lack of information about norms and routines; lack of patient flow; routine changes without communication with the nurse coordinators; absenteeism and presenteeism of the nursing team; refusal of reassignment by technicians; nursing professionals who chose to work in the COVID-19 sector and earn additional unhealthy salary and those who did not choose due to fear of disease; and conflicts arising from the patient. Conclusion: the analysis revealed situations marked by ethical problems that compromise the dynamics of work and the quality of care. Contributions to practice: understanding ethical problems contributes to the promotion of improvements in planning, intervention, and preparation of professionals to deal with conflicting issues experienced in hospital management.Objetivo: compreender os problemas éticos vivenciados por enfermeiros gestores no contexto da pandemia da COVID-19. Métodos: estudo qualitativo, realizado com 19 enfermeiros gestores. Os critérios de inclusão foram enfermeiros que exerciam a função de gestão há, pelo menos, seis meses, e os de exclusão, os que ocupavam cargo assistencial. Coleta de dados realizada por meio de entrevistas individuais com roteiro semiestruturado e análise documental, e analisados por meio da Análise de Conteúdo. Resultados: os problemas éticos estão relacionados à: duplicidade e falta de informação sobre as normas e rotinas; ausência de fluxo dos pacientes; mudanças de rotina sem comunicação com os enfermeiros coordenadores; absenteísmo e presenteísmo da equipe de enfermagem; recusa de remanejamento por parte dos técnicos; profissionais da enfermagem que optaram por atuar no setor da COVID-19 e ganhar adicional de insalubridade e os que não optaram devido ao medo da doença; e conflitos provenientes do paciente. Conclusão: a análise revelou situações marcadas por problemas éticos que comprometem a dinâmica de trabalho e a qualidade do atendimento. Contribuições para a prática: a compreensão dos problemas éticos contribui para a promoção de melhorias no planejamento, intervenção e preparo dos profissionais para lidar com questões conflitantes vivenciadas na gestão hospitalar.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis strategi bertahan dan strategi pemasaran online usaha kecil rajut di masa pandemi COVID-19 di Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data diperoleh dengan mewawancarai pelaku usaha rajut dan pihak terkait sebagai informan kunci. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pandemi COVID-19 berdampak negatif pada usaha kecil rajut di sentra rajut kota bandung. Sebagai Langkah strategi di tengah pandemi, para pelaku bisnis menggunakan strategi bertahan, dengan cara tidak menaikkan harga jual, melainkan mengurangi target keuntungan, dalam  strategi pemasaran online pelaku usaha kecil rajut menggunakan strategi :  e-commerce, pemasaran digital,  peningkatan kualitas produk dan layanan, serta hubungan pelanggan. Implementasi strategi tersebut didorong oleh semangat kewirausahaan, fleksibilitas, tanggap terhadap perubahan dan perkembangan teknologi, serta kemampuan berkolaborasi dengan berbagai pemangku kepentingan.
