Preparation of hybrid Fe3O4/Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) particles by emulsion and evaporation method. Optimization of the experimental parameters

    No full text
The incorporation of iron oxide nanoparticles into poly(lactic-co-glycolic) (PLGA) particles was carried out with an emulsion and evaporation method. To optimize the mean size and the particle size distribution of the particles, the following parameters were modulated: the molecular weight and the hydrolyzation degree of the surfactant, the concentration of the aqueous phase and the stirring rate. Samples were characterized by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). © 2014 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
