Implementation of the CDM model to the analisys of the hotel sector
The main aim of this study was to determine the impact of innovation on productivity in service sector companies â especially those in the hospitality sector â that value the reduction of environmental impact as relevant to the innovation process. We used a structural analysis model based on the one developed by CrĂ©pon, Duguet, and Mairesse (1998). This model is known as the CDM model (an acronym of the authorsâ surnames). These authors developed seminal studies in the field of the relationships between innovation and productivity (see Griliches 1979; Pakes and Grilliches 1980). The main advantage of the CDM model is its ability to integrate the process of innovation and business productivity from an empirical perspective.Universidad de MĂĄlaga. Some properties of emission coordinates
4 emitters broadcasting an increasing electromagnetic signal generate a
system of relativistic coordinates for the space-time, called emission
coordinates. Their physical realization requires an apparatus similar to the
one of the Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). Several relativistic
corrections are utilized for the current precisions, but the GNSS are conceived
as classical (Newtonian) systems, which has deep implications in the way of
operating them. The study of emission coordinates is an essential step in order
to develop a fully relativistic theory of positioning systems. This talk
presents some properties of emission coordinates. In particular, we
characterize how any observer sees a configuration of satellites giving a
degenerated system and show that the trajectories of the satellites select a
unique privileged observer at each point and, for any observer, a set of 3
orthogonal spatial axes
Government Financing and Interest Rates in a Three Assets Sidrauski-based Model
In this paper we formulate a Sidrauski-based model with three assets in which we introduce public bonds into the utility function of agents, with the purpose of analyzing some related questions with regards to the consequences of the financial activity of the government and the determination of the interest rates. The results obtained permit us to conclude that, within this framework: 1.-financial decisions of government will not influence the steady state levels of consumption and capital, and 2.-the inflation rate affects the real interest rate on bonds negatively.Government Financing, Money Demand, Inflation Rate, Interest Rates, Sidrauski Model.
A Guide to Solar Power Forecasting using ARMA Models
We describe a simple and succinct methodology to develop hourly
auto-regressive moving average (ARMA) models to forecast power output from a
photovoltaic solar generator. We illustrate how to build an ARMA model, to use
statistical tests to validate it, and construct hourly samples. The resulting
model inherits nice properties for embedding it into more sophisticated
operation and planning models, while at the same time showing relatively good
accuracy. Additionally, it represents a good forecasting tool for sample
generation for stochastic energy optimization models
Analysis Framework for Translation of Maritime Legal Documents
Maritime activity around the globe currently generates a great amount of translation work, especially from English into other languages. This paper focuses on the analysis of the translation process in maritime legal and administrative documents. The study first establishes which maritime documents are most often translated and a tool is then developed to analyse such documents in detail, based on the concept of textual genre. Such analysis would help translators to better understand these highly specialised documents and thus contribute towards improving translation of the same
Fundamental Solutions and Decay of Fully Non-local Problems
In this paper, we study a fully non-local reaction-diffusion equation which
is non-local both in time and space. We apply subordination principles to
construct the fundamental solutions of this problem, which we use to find a
representation of the mild solutions. Moreover, using techniques of Harmonic
Analysis and Fourier Multipliers, we obtain the temporal decay rates for the
mild solutions
