Student well-being is an essential goal in educational practice. Schools have a strategic role to play in developing students' well-being. This study aims to examine the role of schools in developing student well-being and to explore students' and teachers' opinions about such development. This study used a mixed-method sequential explanatory design. Quantitative data were collected from one thousand one hundred and ten students from eleven junior high schools in East Java Province, Indonesia. Qualitative data were collected from four students and four teachers. Descriptive analysis and regression analysis techniques were used to analyze the quantitative data, while thematic analysis was used to analyze the qualitative data. The hypothesis that school climate affects students' well-being was accepted. This study also found that three school climate characteristics affect students' well-being: a sense of belonging to the school, harmonious relationships among students, and positive student-teacher interactions. The results of this study suggest that the development of students' well-being can be promoted by creating a school climate

One-of-a-kind efforts to make the losses state’s financial incurred by the State due to corrupt activities, is through the confiscation of the Defendant’s assets. Later it may subsequently be utilized for a form of monetary payment in lieu of State losses charged to the Defendant. On the grounds of payment of money in lieu of State losses, confiscation of the Defendant’s personal assets that had nothing to do with corruption was then carried out. The research’s main eligibility is to find out how significance proof is involved due to tribunal mechanism, as in the safetymeasureness of the defendant given right and assets as being regulated for evidences in the tipikor case. The researcher’s study applied juridical normative method employing statutory and conceptual pathways. Secondly, layered information was gathered from observation and papers, in order to ensure the quality. According to the researcher’s findings, the purpose of headlining deposition in tribunal is to support the proof of the litigant’s motion, incapable of assuring the sentence’s delivery. There is a guarantee and protection of property rights in the Indonesian constitutional written law 1945 (28H) par. (4). It demonstrates the litigant’s possession of their property being safeguarded by the state, which had unassociated an elicit act of graft as property sheltered from confiscation in the court process. Unlike the personal property of the litigant, if is employed in an unlawful conduct as graft itself, the belongings shall be seized within the tribunal proceedings. Beta thalassemia major (TM) is a common hereditary disease in Indonesia. Iron overload due to regular transfusion may induce myocardial iron deposition leading to electrophysiological dysfunction and functional disorders of the heart. Ventricular arrhythmia is one of the most common causes of sudden cardiac death in thalassemia patients. This cross-sectional study of 62 TM patients aged 10-32 years in Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital was done to assess their electrophysiological properties and heart rate variability, including 24- hour Holter monitoring, signal averaged electrocardiogram (SAECG) for detection of ventricular late potential (VLP), and determination of heart rate variability (HRV). We also assessed their 12-lead ECG parameters, such as P wave, QRS complex, QT/ QTc interval, QRS dispersion, and QT/ QTc dispersion. Iron overload was defined by T2-star magnetic resonance (MR-T2*) values of less than 20 ms or ferritin level greater than 2500 ng/mL. Subjects were grouped accordingly. There were significant differences of QTc dispersion (p = 0.026) and deceleration capacity (p = 0.007) between MR-T2* groups. Multivariate analysis showed an inverse correlation between QTc dispersion and MR-T2* values. There was a proportional correlation between heart rate deceleration capacity in the low MR-T2* group (p = 0.058) and the high ferritin group (p = 0.007). No VLPs were detectable in any patients. In conclusion, prolonged QTc dispersion and decreased heart rate deceleration capacity were significantly correlated with greater odds of iron overload among patients with Thalassemia major

Effectiveness of using high-fidelity simulation on learning outcomes in undergraduate nursing education: systematic review and meta-analysis

    Get PDF
OBJECTIVE: High-fidelity simulation-based learning, which mimics situation, environmental, and psychological exposure in the clinical setting, potentially helps nursing students acquire knowledge, confidence, and skills in learning clinical skills during the transition from pre-clinical to clinical practice. However, inconsistent evidence on its effect on learning outcomes was presented across the studies. The aim of our study was to review and analyze the effectiveness of high-fidelity simulation on learning outcomes in undergraduate nursing education. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study was a systematic review and meta-analysis of experimental studies. A literature search was conducted in four databases (CINAHL, SocINDEX, PubMed, and Web of Science) until July 2021. The Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool was used to appraise the studies’ quality. The random-effect model was used to conduct a meta-analysis. RESULTS: Fourteen studies were eligible for quantitative synthesis. The pooled effect indicated high-fidelity simulation-based learning significantly increased nursing students’ knowledge acquisition (standardized mean difference [SMD]: 1.73, p < 0.001), self-confidence (SMD: 0.56, p= 0.019) and skills performance (SMD: 1.71, p= 0.006). CONCLUSIONS: Stakeholders within the academic institution may consider enculturating the involvement of high-fidelity simulation as part of an innovative teaching strategy in nursing curricula. Therefore, when graduates enter the workforce, they can function quickly and practice confidently in clinical settings without bringing potential harm

Abstract - The addition of new pipelines to the fuel oil distribution pipeline system is carried out from Mirah Terminal to the jetty at Jamrud Terminal. The pipe is laid underground with a depth of +1.5 m from the ground surface to the bottom of the pipe. Buried pipe shall be evaluated to ensure that the soil provides adequate containment to limit pipe movement, to prevent unacceptable stress and/or strain levels in the pipe, and to prevent failure of the earth support. A technical review was carried out on the buried pipeline installation design with uncased conditions, especially on the stress aspect. Stress analysis is carried out with reference to the provisions of API RP 1102 and ASME B31.4. From the results of the stress analysis, that the magnitude of the stress due to internal load is 2243,357 psi, earth load is 281,330 psi, live load is 1174.766 psi (circumferential stress) and 971.715 psi (longitudinal stress), sustain load is 2330.4 psi, occasional seismic 690 ,4, occasional seismic + wheel load 6933 psi. The results of the analysis show that the stresses that occur in the pipeline are within safe limits according to API RP 1102 and ASME B31.4
