    ENFORCEMENT OF RESTORATIVE JUSTICE IN TRAFFIC CRIME CASES

    <p><strong>Abstract</strong></p> <p>This scientific study aims to explore the implementation of restorative justice in cases involving fatal traffic crimes. The research focuses on the principles of law enforcement based on restorative justice for traffic accidents causing human casualties. The study adopts a normative research method, utilizing a statutory, conceptual, and case-based approach. The findings reveal that the application of restorative justice concepts in crime prevention practices in Indonesia, particularly in the absence of significant legislative changes to criminal procedural or criminal laws, lacks a specific framework within the context of Indonesian criminal law. The study suggests that restorative justice should be incorporated into the investigative, prosecutorial, and judicial processes, emphasizing the resolution of conflicts among the main stakeholders involved, namely victims, perpetrators, and their communities. The approach prioritizes their interests and aims to restore harmony and balance in social relations. Overall, the study underscores the importance of embracing and operationalizing restorative justice within the legal system to effectively address social problems.</p&gt

    SEMINAR AWAM BAHAYA SINDROMA METABOLIK DAN CARA PENCEGAHANNYA DI KOTA SIAK SRI INDERAPURA, KABUPATEN SIAK, RIAU

    Abstract This community service was carried out at Siak Sri Inderapura, Siak Regency, Riau Province.  The activity was done in the form of a lay seminar on metabolic syndrome hazards and how to prevent it which targeting the general public. This activity aims to educate the public about metabolic syndrome, its danger to health, and how to prevent it so that people are expected to be able to recognize the signs as early as possible. The service activity begins with filling out the pretest questionnaire, delivery of talks by a health expert and discussion between participants and speaker, then at the end of the event the participants return to fill in the posttest questionnaire. The results of this community service showed a significant increase in knowledge from participants of lay seminars "The dangers of metabolic syndrome and how to prevent it" in Siak Sri Inderapura, Siak Regency, Riau.     Abstrak. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Kota Sri Inderapura, Kabupaten Siak, Provinsi Riau. Kegiatan ini berupa seminar awam dengan topik bahaya sindroma metabolik dan cara pencegahannya dengan sasaran masyarakat umum. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengedukasi masyarakat mengenai gejala sindroma metabolik, bahayanya terhadap kesehatan, dan cara pencegahannya sehingga diharapkan masyarakat dapat mengenali tanda-tandanya sedini mungkin. Kegiatan pengabdian diawali dengan pengisian kuisioner pretest, penyampaian materi oleh pakar kesehatan dan dilanjutkan proses tanya jawab antara peserta dan narasumber, selanjutnya pada akhir acara para peserta kembali diminta untuk mengisi kuisioner posttest. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan dari peserta seminar awam  “Bahaya sindroma metabolik dan cara pencegahannya” di Kota Siak Sri Inderapura, Kabupaten Siak, Riau.

    Fishing is one of the commodities included in the results of strategic commodities in Indonesia because Indonesia is a maritime country.. The high level of private consumption will be the fishery, making the government to accelerate the development of the fisheries sector. One of the districts in the District Mlonggo Jepara, the focal point of researchers because the township has a huge potential in terms of fisheries production. Based on the number of input and output along with their respective prices, we can determine the efficiency of production capacity at the sites. This study aims to analyze the conditions of return to scale fishery business and analyze the level of technical efficiency, the efficiency of the price, as well as economic efficiency to fishing in the District Mlonggo, Jepara regency. Data obtained through questionnaires through interviews fishing techniques in the study site. While the methods used is the analysis of the condition of return to scale through the analysis of Cobb-Douglass production function using regression estimation and analysis of the level of production efficiency using Data Envelopment Analysis. The results of this study indicate that alues return to scale in the study site of 2.765 indicates that the fishery business in the research area has conditions of increasing returns to scale. Technical efficiency level of 0,583 indicates that the fishermen of the study sites have been allocated production factor of 58,30 percent of the optimal results. The efficiency level of the price of 28.7622 shows that the allocation is not efficient use of production factors in the price. Economic efficiency value reached 16,768 indicates that activity is not economically efficient production

    Utilization of Root-Colonizing Bacteria to Protect Hot-Pepper Against Tobacco Mosaic Tobamovirus

    Tobacco Mosaic Tobamovirus (TMV) is one of many important viruses infecting Solanaceous plants including hot pepper in Indonesia. To accomplish and improve the effectiveness of virus management, we used root-colonizing bacteria (rhizobacteria) isolated from healthy hot pepper. Eight rhizobacteria isolates were selected and their capacity in enhancing plant growth and inducing systemic resistance (ISR) against TMV in greenhouse trials were evaluated. The rhizobacteria was applied as seed treatment and soil drench. Bacterized-seedling showed a better growth vigor, fitness and a milder symptom than non-bacterized control plants. The protective effect of rhizobacteria was more pronounced after challenging inoculation by TMV, especially for plants treated by isolates I-6, I-16, and I-35. However, TMV accumulation was slightly affected by bacterial treatment. The rhizobacteria might improved ISR by increasing peroxidase enzyme activity but this depends on the species. Based on whole results, isolate I-35 was the potential plant growth promotion rhizobacteria (PGPR). The I-35 was identified as Bacillus cereus based on morphological characteristics and nucleotide sequences of 16S r-RNA. Key words: root-colonizing bacteria, TMV, IS
