    La Comunidad Terapéutica se ha convertido en un instrumento indispensable en el tratamiento de los pacientes consumidores de drogas y como espacio psicoterapéutico en la salud mental general.Las propuestas de tratamiento que en su interior se desarrollan requieren un cuidado exquisito desde un punto de vista profesional. Las psicoterapias individuales, de grupo o familiares se ponen en marcha en un contexto muy definido, el trabajo psicoeducativo y los tratamientos psicofarmacológicos de cualquier índole se introducen y ejecutan en un espacio que en sí mismo es ya un espacio terapéutico de cambio.La Comunidad Terapéutica es un sistema que interviene sobre el individuo que acepta participar en él. Superada ya la etapa en la que se pensaba que aislar del contexto al paciente toxicómano era una necesidad se han puesto en marcha mecanismos de reflexión sobre la importancia del dentro y fuera del paciente, tanto a nivel individual como a nivel de sus propios contextos familiares y sociales; es aquí en este espacio de trabajo para el individuo y lo que le rodea donde el grupo terapéutico, presente en toda comunidad terapéutica, ejerce una acción comprensiva sobre los problemas de los pacientes atendidos y estimuladora de sus capacidades de cambio.La Teoría Sistémico-relacional aporta una gran capacidad comprensiva sobre los fenómenos presentes en las conductas adictivas y las necesidades para cambiarlas. El análisis de la comunidad terapéutica desde estas teorías va a facilitar a los profesionales mejorar sus capacidades de intervención sobre los pacientes y a estos avanzar con mayor eficacia en sus propios tratamientos.Entender cómo funciona un sistema y aplicar las nociones básicas a la comunidad terapéutica va a facilitar también la organización interna de los profesionales y de sus relaciones tanto entre ellos como con los otros sistemas de tratamiento

    El Paseo by Harold Trompetero: Approaching Popular Film from Colombia in a North American Classroom

    This article explores the manner in which popular films from Colombia‚ÄĒ specifically comedies, such as the movie El paseo, directed by Harold Trompetero in 2010, which has been the highest grossing movie to date in the history of movies produced in Colombia‚Äďmay be used in the classroom in the context of a World Language, Literature, and Culture department in the United States. It is the contention of this study that such a choice is far from common due to diverse issues, which include the limited access to international distribution of the majority of the so-called ‚Äúnational film‚ÄĚ or, in this case, ‚ÄúColombian film.‚ÄĚ As a consequence, the reception of these films is conditioned by what British visual art historian Kobena Mercer has characterized as a ‚Äúburden of representation;‚ÄĚ that is, the fact that any product not coming from the heart of mainstream western culture is burdened by the implication that its content will be considered as representative of the identity with which it has been associated, regardless of how nuanced its position may actually be in its original context. Furthermore, many foreign films arrive in North America by way of festivals, which may impose an additional layer of expectations. This analysis also examines the need to complement, modulate, and separate from some trends common in the study of Colombian film, as discussed by film scholar Juana SuaŐĀrez in her volume Cinembargo Colombia: Critical Essays on Colombian Cinema (i.e. the omnipresence of ‚Äúviolence‚ÄĚ as a determining narrative, the false dichotomy of ‚Äúgood/bad‚ÄĚ film without making explicit the criteria for such a taxonomy, among others). The article reviews some of the challenges involved in teaching the film with attention to intercultural communication. Classroom readings include legislative documents (such as Law 397/1997 and Law 814/2003), miscellaneous film criticism from Colombian newspapers and blogs, and critical concepts by film scholar Andrew Higson, Mexican anthropologist Marcela Lagarde, and Spanish communication specialist Miguel Rodrigo Alsina, among others

    The purpose of this article is to investigate the existential foundation in Foucault‚Äôs introduction to Binswanger‚Äôs ¬ęTraum und Existenz¬Ľ. It will argued that Foucault develops the sketch of an anthropology oh the imagination that supported in Binswanger‚Äôs anthropology. The analysis focuses mainly on the concepts of dream, existence, freedom, image and imagination. Unlike the Daseinsanalyse, Foucault emphasizes the facticity and the historical expression of freedom. Whereas Binswanger supports a notion of subjetc who subordinates the individual existence to the ideal one of community totality, Foucault emphasizes concrete expression of the freedom.El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo investigar el fundamento existencialista de la introducci√≥n escrita por Michel Foucault a ‚ÄúTraum und Existenz‚ÄĚ de Ludwing Binswanger. Sostenemos que Foucault, partiendo de la antropolog√≠a binswangeriana, desarrolla el esbozo de una antropolog√≠a de la imaginaci√≥n. Esta antropolog√≠a se centra en una serie de conceptos: sue√Īo, existencia, libertad, imagen e imaginaci√≥n. Sin embargo, a diferencia del Daseinsanalyse, Foucault pone el acento en la facticidad y en la expresi√≥n hist√≥rica de la libertad. En este punto se plantea una diferencia importante entre ambos autores: mientras que Binswanger pone el acento en una noci√≥n de individuo que supedita su existencia individual a un ideal de totalidad comunitaria, Foucault destaca la necesidad de dirigir la dimensi√≥n fundante de la libertad hacia sus formas de expresi√≥n concretas

    Modulation of intestinal microbiota and immunometabolic parameters by caloric restriction and lactic acid bacteria

    The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of a caloric restriction diet with and without the administration of Lactobacillus fermentum CRL1446, Lactobacillus casei CRL431 and Lactococcus lactis CRL1434, on immunemetabolic parameters and the composition of intestinal microbiota in mice. The supplementation of the caloric restriction diet with L. fermentum CRL1446 showed a bifidogenic effect and was able to maintain the abundance of the genus Lactobacillus over time. On the other hand, this strain showed hypocholesterolemic and hypoglycemic properties as well as inducing a decrease in plasma leptin levels. L. casei CRL431 administration increased the abundance of the Lactobacillus genera in the intestinal microbiota, which would improve the absorption of nutrients from the diet. This strain restores glucose values decreased by the diet in addition to inducing an increase in leptin and cytokines. Lac. lactis CRL1434 showed greater immunomodulatory capacity, without significantly affecting the composition of the intestinal microbiota. It had hypoglycemic properties and induced a decrease in leptin concentrations. L. fermentum CRL1446 and Lac. lactis CRL1434 could be potentially probiotic strains useful to correct the immuno-metabolic alterations associated with obesity, while L. casei CRL431 is a more suitable strain to be used in cases of malnutrition where it is sought to improve the absorption of nutrients and protection against infections, in addition to the stimulation of the immune system.Fil: Fabersani Marrades, Mario Emanuel.     Esterase activities and biochemical properties of lactic acid bacteria isolated from goat¬īs milk cheese in Argentina

    Twenty-two lactic acid bacteria (LAB) strains isolated from Argentinean goat dairy products were evaluated for its biochemical properties and esterase activities relevant to flavor development. Streptococcus thermophiles (UNSE314), Lactobacillus (L.) delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus (UNSE309), L. rhamnosus (UNSE308), L. plantarum (UNSE287, UNSE316, UNSE317) and Pediococcus pentosaceus (UNSE315) strains presented high acidifying activity. All strains tested metabolized citrate and produced diacetyl-acetoin in goat milk. Based on these results, ten strains with the best performance in diverse technological properties were selected to determine esterolytic activity. In all evaluated strains, esterase specific activity (ESA) was detected on a-naphthyl (a-NA) acetate and B-naphthyl (B-NA) acetate, propionate, caprylate and a-NA butyrate. No activity was detected on B-NA laurate. The highest values were detected when using a-NA instead of B-NA derivatives as substrate. In Pediococcus strains, wide variability in ESA were observed, which were species- and strain-specific. These results allow us to select strains with biochemical properties and esterase activities to design starter and adjunct cultures that contribute to flavor development during cheese ripening, thus preserving the typical organoleptic characteristics of Argentinean goat cheeses. Fil: Taboada, Natalia Verónica.     Draft genome sequence of the feruloyl esterase-producing strain lactobacillus fermentum CRL1446, a probiotic for malnutrition

    We report here the draft genome sequence of Lactobacillus fermentum CRL1446 (2,148,781 bp, 51.4% G+C content). This strain exhibits feruloyl esterase activity and important technological and probiotic properties.     Guanosine diphosphatase is required for protein and sphingolipid glycosylation in the Golgi lumen of Saccharomyces cerevisiae

    Current models for nucleotide sugar use in the Golgi apparatus predict a critical role for the lumenal nucleoside diphosphatase. After transfer of sugars to endogenous macromolecular acceptors, the enzyme converts nucleoside diphosphates to nucleoside monophosphates which in turn exit the Golgi lumen in a coupled antiporter reaction, allowing entry of additional nucleotide sugar from the cytosol. To test this model, we cloned the gene for the S. cerevisiae guanosine diphosphatase and constructed a null mutation. This mutation should reduce the concentrations of GDP-mannose and GMP and increase the concentration of GDP in the Golgi lumen. The alterations should in turn decrease mannosylation of proteins and lipids in this compartment. In fact, we found a partial block in O- and N-glycosylation of proteins such as chitinase and carboxypeptidase Y and underglycosylation of invertase.     Specific Strains of Lactic Acid Bacteria Differentially Modulate the Profile of Adipokines In Vitro

    Obesity induces local/systemic inflammation accompanied by increases in macrophage infiltration into adipose tissue and production of inflammatory cytokines, chemokines, and hormones. Previous studies have shown that probiotics could improve the intestinal dysbiosis induced by metabolic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. Microorganisms could (directly or indirectly) affect adipokine levels due to their capacity to induce translocation of several intestinal microbial antigens into systemic circulation, which could lead to metabolic endotoxemia or produce immunomodulation in different organs. The aim of the present study was to select non-inflammatory lactic acid bacteria (LAB) strains with the capacity to modulate adipokine secretion by the adipose tissue. We wish to elucidate the role of potential probiotic strains in the regulation of the cross talking between immune cells such as macrophages and adipose cells. Mouse macrophage cell line RAW 264.7 was used for evaluating the ability of 14 LAB strains to induce cytokine production. The LAB strains were chosen based on their previously studied beneficial properties in health. Then, in murine adipocyte culture and macrophage-adipocyte coculture, we determined the ability of these strains to induce cytokines and leptin secretion. Tumor necrosis factor alpha, interleukin 6 (IL-6), IL-10, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1, and leptin levels were measured in cell supernatants. We also performed the detection and quantification of leptin receptor (Ob-Rb) expression in macrophage cell lines stimulated by these LAB strains. Differential secretion profile of cytokines in macrophage cells induced by LAB strains was observed. Also, the levels of Ob-Rb expression diverged among different LAB strains. In LAB-stimulated coculture cells (adipocytes and macrophages), we observed differential production of leptin and cytokines. Furthermore, we detected lower production levels in single culture than cocultured cells. The principal component analysis showed an association between the four clusters of strains established according to their inflammatory profiles and leptin adipocyte production and leptin receptor expression in macrophages. We conclude that coculture is the most appropriate system for selecting strains with the ability to modulate adipokine secretion. The use of microorganisms with low and medium inflammatory properties and ability to modulate leptin levels could be a strategy for the treatment of some metabolic diseases associated with dysregulation of immune response.Fil: Fabersani Marrades, Mario Emanuel.
