Strategic Trade Policy in Bargaining over Managerial Delegation Competition

In this paper, we assess the influence of the generalized Nash bargaining model on strategic trade policies. In particular, how the trade policy and the bargaining process over managerial contract are strategically connected within the context of bargaining over the sales delegation model is analyzed. We explore the policy impacts in two different models: the export rivalry model and the import-competing model, and show that the introduction of managers' bargaining process leads to a decrease in the export subsidy and optimal tariff in different models.Bargaining Delegation

Pose-Guided Multi-Granularity Attention Network for Text-Based Person Search

Text-based person search aims to retrieve the corresponding person images in an image database by virtue of a describing sentence about the person, which poses great potential for various applications such as video surveillance. Extracting visual contents corresponding to the human description is the key to this cross-modal matching problem. Moreover, correlated images and descriptions involve different granularities of semantic relevance, which is usually ignored in previous methods. To exploit the multilevel corresponding visual contents, we propose a pose-guided multi-granularity attention network (PMA). Firstly, we propose a coarse alignment network (CA) to select the related image regions to the global description by a similarity-based attention. To further capture the phrase-related visual body part, a fine-grained alignment network (FA) is proposed, which employs pose information to learn latent semantic alignment between visual body part and textual noun phrase. To verify the effectiveness of our model, we perform extensive experiments on the CUHK Person Description Dataset (CUHK-PEDES) which is currently the only available dataset for text-based person search. Experimental results show that our approach outperforms the state-of-the-art methods by 15 \% in terms of the top-1 metric.Comment: published in AAAI2020(oral

The anabolic action of PTH in bone is mostly mediated by cAMP/PKA and Wnt-independent activation of β-catenin/T-cell factor (TCF) signaling. β-Catenin switches the PTH receptor (PTHR) signaling from cAMP/PKA to PLC/PKC activation by binding to the PTHR. Ixazomib (Izb) was recently approved as the first orally administered proteasome inhibitor for the treatment of multiple myeloma; it acts in part by inhibition of pathological bone destruction. Proteasome inhibitors were reported to stabilize β-catenin by the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. However, how Izb affects PTHR activation to regulate β-catenin/TCF signaling is poorly understood. In the present study, using CRISPR/Cas9 genome-editing technology, we show that Izb reverses β-catenin-mediated PTHR signaling switch and enhances PTH-induced cAMP generation and cAMP response element-luciferase activity in osteoblasts. Izb increases active forms of β-catenin and promotes β-catenin translocation, thereby dissociating β-catenin from the PTHR at the plasma membrane. Furthermore, Izb facilitates PTH-stimulated GSK3β phosphorylation and β-catenin phosphorylation. Thus Izb enhances PTH stimulation of β-catenin/TCF signaling via cAMP-dependent activation, and this effect is due to its separating β-catenin from the PTHR. These findings provide evidence that Izb may be used to improve the therapeutic efficacy of PTH for the treatment of osteoporosis and other resorptive bone diseases

On-chip electro-optic tuning of a lithium niobate microresonator with integrated in-plane microelectrodes

We demonstrate electro-optic tuning of an on-chip lithium niobate microresonator with integrated in-plane microelectrodes. First two metallic microelectrodes on the substrate were formed via femtosecond laser process. Then a high-Q lithium niobate microresonator located between the microelectrodes was fabricated by femtosecond laser direct writing accompanied by focused ion beam milling. Due to the efficient structure designing, high electro-optical tuning coefficient of 3.41 pm/V was observed.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figure

NLO QCD corrections to Single Top and W associated production at the LHC with forward detector acceptances

In this paper we study the Single Top and W boson associated photoproduction via the main reaction pppγppW±t+Y\rm pp\rightarrow p\gamma p\rightarrow pW^{\pm}t+Y at the 14 TeV Large Hadron Collider (LHC) up to next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD level assuming a typical LHC multipurpose forward detector. We use the Five-Flavor-Number Schemes (5FNS) with massless bottom quark assumption in the whole calculation. Our results show that the QCD NLO corrections can reduce the scale uncertainty. The typical K-factors are in the range of 1.15 to 1.2 which lead to the QCD NLO corrections of 15% to 20% correspond to the leading-order (LO) predictions with our chosen parameters.Comment: 41pages, 12figures. arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1106.2890 by other author

    Analysis of Λ

We analyze the baryonic semilepton decay Λb→Λμ+μ- in the scalar leptoquark models with X(3,2,7/6) and X(3,2,1/6) states, respectively. We also discuss the effects of these two NP models on some physical observables. For some measured observables, like the differential decay width, the longitudinal polarization of the dilepton system, the lepton-side forward-backward asymmetry, and the baryon-side forward-backward asymmetry, we find that the prediction values of SM are consistent with the current data in most q2 ranges, where the prediction values of these two NP models can also keep consistent with the current data with 1σ. However, in some q2 ranges, the prediction values of SM are difficult to meet the current data, but the contributions of these two NP models can meet them or keep close to them. For the double-lepton polarization asymmetries, PLT, PTL, PNN, and PTT are sensitive to the scalar leptoquark model X(3,2,7/6) but not to X(3,2,1/6). However, PLN, PNL, PTN, and PNT are not sensitive to these two NP models
