The Interaction in Blearningas an Enabler of Constructive Learning Environments: from the Perspective of Students

El blearning se ha convertido en una modalidad de enseñanza-aprendizaje prometedora puesto que el hibrido de presencialidad y virtualidad incrementa las opciones para la construcción de conocimiento. El objetivo de la investigación, fue conocer las formas de interacción en modalidad blended que posibilitan la configuración de ambientes de aprendizaje constructivistas. Los resultados derivan de un estudio cuantitativo, no experimental transversal, de alcance descriptivo correlacional, en el que participaron 59 estudiantes de Ingeniería en Computación. Los resultados destacan la importancia de la interacción constructiva mayormente entre compañerosy en menor medida con el tutor.Blearning has become a promising learning and teaching method since the combination of being present in a classroom and virtual teaching increase the options for the building of knowledge. The aim of the research was to learn the forms of interaction within blended settings that enable constructive learning environments. Implication of ICT in the learning of University Students: a systemic-conectivist explanation

El acercamiento a la explicación del aprendizaje de estudiantes en la era digital parece ser insuficiente desde el conductismo, cognitivismo y constructivismo; así el objetivo de la investigación fue explicar desde una perspectiva sistémico-conectivista la relación entre las acciones que realizan los estudiantes universitarios y la inclusión de las TIC en su aprendizaje. El método fue cuantitativo, transversal y se aplicó un cuestionario de escala Likert construido a partir de los principios del conectivismo. Los resultados indican que las tecnologías están presentes siendo la colaboración, exposición retroalimentación y generación de redes lo más destacado, mientras la correlación de Pearson es significativa.The approaching to the explanation of the students learning in the digital age appears to be insufficient from the behaviorism, cognitive, and constructivist; by this way, the objective of the research was explained from a systemic-connectivism perspective the relation between the actions that university students conduct and the inclusion of the ICT in their learning. The method selected was a quantitative, transversal, and a questionnaire was applied on the Likert scale built as of the connectivism principles. Técnicas de intervención para la conservación y recuperación del patrimonio chileno en tierra

En el estudio se analizarán las recientes experiencias de proyectos de intervención para la recuperación y conservación de nuestro patrimonio en tierra. Presentándose tanto las diferentes posturas y criterios para enfrentar la conservación de determinadas obras en función de su estado de conservación, como los diversos sistemas de refuerzo que han sido aplicados en los programas de reconstrucción post terremoto, tanto de obras con declaratoria de monumento como en aquellas construcciones anónimas que forma parte del paisaje patrimonial de zonas típicas. En las conclusiones se plantea la relación entre los diversos métodos de intervención y la categoría de la obra en función de los recursos económicos asignados, tanto desde el sector público como de los privados, demostrando que aquellas intervenciones que responden a criterios académicamente más apropiados en cuanto a compatibilidad material y capacidad resistente, en general se aplican a obras de mayor valoración histórica y cuentan con significativos recursos para su ejecución. Este tipo de actuaciones seguirá siendo factible mientras no sean probadas y evaluadas empíricamente frente a las acciones de un nuevo terremoto

Alginate electrodeposition onto three-dimensional porous Co-Ni films as drug delivery platforms

Three-dimensional porous Co–Ni films/alginate hybrid materials have been successfully prepared by electrodeposition to be used as a steerable magnetic device for drug delivery. Firstly, 3D porous Co–Ni films were prepared as substrates for the subsequent electrodeposition of the alginate biopolymer. Cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic and potentiostatic studies were performed to establish the best conditions to obtain porous Co–Ni films. The electrochemical experiments were carried out in an electrolyte containing the metal salts and ammonium chloride at low pHs. In a second stage, the electrochemical deposition of alginate as a biocompatible polymer drug delivery carrier was performed. The characteristics of the alginate matrix were investigated in terms of electrochemical properties, morphology and drug release. The hybrid material obtained showed soft-magnetic behavior and drug release indicating its suitability to be used as a steerable magnetic drug delivery device.Postprint (author's final draft

Machine learning on deep neural networks and object tracking applied to motion of airplanes

The aim of this project is to understand the concepts underlying machine learning and how to implement those. To achieve this purpose, an exhaustive study of the origins of this technology has been made, describing the most popular types of neural networks, their history, and the architectures and subsequent implementations. Three implementations of neural networks are presented, using world-known datasets. In the last implementation, an exhaustive study has been realized to achieve the best performance algorithm taking into account different settings. In the second part of the project, Detectron2 has been used, an advanced machine learning program that performs object detection. Stopping Criterion for the Mean Shift Iterative Algorithm

Identification of factors that generate the phenomenon of high turnover of personnel in a company of electrical engineering in the city of Bogota D.C.-Colombia. Case study

En el presente estudio, se determinaron los factores que originan la rotación de personal en una pyme de ingeniería eléctrica en la ciudad de Bogotá D.C. En primer lugar se efectuó una recolección de información con el fin de diagnosticar la situación actual. Se comprobó que en el proceso misional, la contratación carece de rigidez y de un adecuado proceso de filtración, ocasionando una incorrecta selección de personal, siendo esta condición la mayor amenaza que aqueja el sistema, pues no se evalúa aspectos que pueden disminuir la probabilidad de materializar el riesgo, como las competencias, formación, educación, experiencia que corresponda a los parámetros exigidos en el cargo. Por otro lado con ayuda de herramientas de límites de especificación, se detectó que entre mas joven sea el trabajador mas posibilidad existe de abandono laboral pues al no tener una percepción de estabilidad en la compañía, la tendencia de esta población es a buscar nuevas alternativas que proporcionen mayor crecimiento profesional, satisfacción laboral, por ejemplo por medio de planes de carrera que generen bienestar, motivación, pero sobre todo sentido de pertenencia. Por último, se analizó en una línea de tiempo los últimos cuatro proyectos de ejecución eléctrica, encontrando que al finalizar cada instalación se presentan fuertes variaciones en fuga de personal ya sea por decisión de la organización o del trabajador, es decir que para cada inicio de obra se debe contratar entre 60% - 70% de personal nuevo incurriendo costos adicionales.In this study, the factors that cause personnel rotation in a pyme of electrical engineering in the city of Bogota D.C were determined. In the first place a collection of information is carried out in order to diagnose the current situation. It was found that in the missionary process, hiring lacks rigidity and an adequate filtration process, causing an incorrect selection of personnel, being this condition the greatest threat that afflicts the system, Because it does not evaluate aspects that can diminish the probability of materializing the risk, Such as competencies, training, education, experience that corresponds to the parameters required in the position. In contrast tools of limits of specification, it was detected that the younger the worker, the more possibility there is of abandonment having no perception of stability in the company, the tendency of this population is to seek new alternatives that provide greater professional growth, job satisfaction, through career plans that generate well-being, motivation, but above all a sense of belonging. Aprender a pensar y reflexionar: propuesta de estrategias cognitivas y metacognitivas en la comprensión lectora

The intervention took place in the Cambridge International School located in the municipality of La Calera, with Seventh Grade students. The principal difficulties presented in this specific researched group, were the low reading comprehension and appropriation of new reading strategies, those were evident in the low scores of the different standardized texts applied by the Institution. For this reason, Isabel Sole, Juana Pinzas, Cassany, Santiago, Castillo y Mateus among other authors were referred. As a possible solution, it is necessary to implement a transversal curriculum, taking into account the scholar level, so it will permit the tuition of cognitive and metacognitive strategies in the different disciplinary areas and so them would be totally diploid. In conclusion, the implementation of cognitive and metacognitive strategies suit the reading comprehension processes, because it permits the student to be conscious about his reading process, but it must be modeled by teachers and be taught through the academic life of a student.Esta investigación se centra en la enseñanza de estrategias cognitivas y metacognitivas de la lectura, para contribuir en el desarrollo de competencias en comprensión lectora. La intervención se desarrolló en el Cambridge International School ubicado en el municipio de La Calera, con estudiantes de grado séptimo. La principal dificultad que se presentada en el grupo de intervención eran la falta comprensión lectora y apropiación de los alumnos en nuevas estrategias de lectura, esto se evidenciaba en bajos resultados en diferentes pruebas estandarizadas aplicadas por la institución. Para ello se referenció a Isabel Sole, Juana Pinzas, Cassany, Santiago, Castillo y Mateus, entre otros. Como solución a lo anterior, se recomienda implementar un currículo transversal, teniendo en cuenta el nivel escolaridad, que permita la enseñanza de estrategias cognitivas y metacognitivas en las diferentes áreas disciplinarias, a fin de que se puedan desplegar a cabalidad. En conclusión, la implementación de estrategias cognitivas y metacognitivas favorece los procesos de comprensión lectora, ya que permite al estudiante ser consiente y autónomo de su proceso lector, pero debe ser modelado por todos los maestros y ensenado a lo largo de la vida estudiantil del alumno.Magíster en Educación (Modalidad Investigación)Maestrí
