    Spin-crossover in metallomesogens of iron(II)

Covalent grafting mesogenic groups to the coordination cores of the parent mononuclear low-spin and spin-crossover compounds afforded metallomesogenic complexes of iron(II). In comparison with the parent complexes the spin-crossover properties of the alkylated derivatives are substantially modified. The type of the modification was found to be dependent on the properties of the parent system and the nature of the used anion, however, the general tendency is the destabilization of the low-spin state at the favor of spin-crossover or high-spin behavior below 400 K. The structural insight revealed the micro-segregated layered organization. The effect of the alkylation of the parent compounds consists first of all in the change of the lattice to a two-dimensional lamellar one retaining significant intermolecular contacts only within the ionic bilayers. The comprehensive analysis of the structural and thermodynamic data in the homologous series pointed at the mechanism of the interplay between the structural modification on melting and the induced anomalous change of the magnetic properties. A family of one-dimensional spin-crossover polymers was synthesized and characterized using a series of spectroscopic methods, X-ray powder diffraction, magnetic susceptibility measurements and differential scanning calorimetry. The copper analogue of was also synthesized and its crystal structure solved. In comparison with the mononuclear systems, the polymeric mesogens of iron(II) are less sensitive to the glass transition, which was attributed to the moderate concomitant variation of the structure. Nevertheless, the observed increase of the magnetic hysteresis with lengthening of the alkyl substituents was ascribed to the interplay of the structural reorganization of the coordination core due to spin-crossover with the structural delay in the spatial reorganization of the mesogenic substituents. The classification of mononuclear and polymeric metallomesogens according to the interactions between the structural- and the spin-transition and analysis of the data on the reported spin-crossover metallomesogens led to the separation of three types, namely: Type i: systems with coupling between the electronic structure of the iron(II) ions and the mesomorphic behavior of the substance; Type ii: systems where both transitions coexist in the same temperature region but are not coupled due to competition with the dehydration or due to negligible structural transformation; Type iii: systems where both transitions occur in different temperature regions and therefore are uncoupled. Fine-tuning, in particular regarding the temperature at which the spin-transition occurs with hysteresis properties responsible for the memory effect, are still a major challenge towards practical implementation of spin-crossover materials. A possible answer to the problem could be materials in which the spin-crossover transition is coupled with another transition easily controllable by external stimuli. In the present thesis we have shown the viability of the approach realized in the mesogenic systems with coupled phase- and spin-transitions

Inventory discrepancies result from various causes and often lead to operational disruptions. This thesis investigates ways to improve inventory accuracy by optimizing inventory-related order management processes for finished goods, based on the case of a medium-sized technology company. The literature review covers key topics such as inventory management and control principles, including inventory accuracy and common reasons for discrepancies causing inaccuracies. It also discusses best practices in academic research to optimize inventoryrelated processes and provides a few success examples from leading companies. The review also explains the data-driven approach to optimization and later applies the structured optimization methodology DMAIC, which is supported by the Ishikawa cause diagram. The empirical study assesses the case company's current situation by analyzing inventory data for six months for end-of-month counts. The study evaluates the current situation using several quantitative methods, including exploratory analysis, distribution analysis, data visualizations, a normality test, and correlation analysis. The main conclusion of the quantitative part of the research is that inventory discrepancies exist in 62% of data entries. Then, the study reviews four current finished goods inventory-related processes within the order management scope selected and investigates possible causes of inventory inaccuracy based on professional observations. The results of the Ishikawa root cause analysis reveal that the key causes contributing to the inventory discrepancies are related to data management, process efficiency, systems effectiveness, and human factors, including communication and collaboration between actors in the processes. After that, several ideas for improvement are proposed to address the identified causes with control measures to ensure sustainability. In short, the measures are to standardize and modernize the workflows, upgrade the ERP system's functions, and train all staff in all locations involved with inventory management tasks, aiming to reduce errors in inventory transactions, thereby increasing inventory accuracy. This study contributes to the field by showing how data-driven structured methodologies can effectively improve inventory accuracy via order management processes within similar organizational contexts

Violation of the heart rhythm is widespread at present. Anxiety-depressive symptoms and a tendency to chronic stress leads to the depletion of the body, which contributes to arrhythmia. The aim of the study is to assess the severity of clinical and hemodynamic indices by using anxiolytic drug mebicar. Materials and methods. Assessment of psycho-emotional status was studied using the psychosocial scale of stress by L. Reader, PSS-10 PHQ-15 and questionnaire identification of social factors that can affect health. Determination of cortisol level in serum was carried out by immunoassay (ELISA) on the ER-500 Microplate Reader. The concentration of N-terminal fragment of the brain natriuretic peptide precursor (NTproBNP) in serum was determined by ELISA using a Biosan PST-60HL shaker. Results. The results of the survey showed a direct dependence of the manifestation of atrial fibrillation (AF) on the level of psychoemotional stress. We found that in group 1b (standard treatment+mebicar) there were complaints of increased excitability (p<0.001), (p-reliability difference of indices before and after treatment), fatigue (p<0.001), deterioration of memory (p<0.01), appetite loss (p<0.05), sleep disturbance (p<0.001), signs of severe sweating (p<0.001), indicating the appearance of astheno-vegetative syndrome. The reduction of manifestations of high stress (p<0.01) in patients of group 1b (standard treatment+mebicar) was noted. A similar pattern was detected in the severity of anxiety in men (p<0.01). Conclusions. Application in the complex therapy of patients with stable coronary heart disease (SIHD) in conjunction with AF anxiolytics of the benzodiazepine series (mebicar) has allowed stopping anxiety-depressive disorders. Analyzing the level of cortisol, we observed its increase depending on the degree of anxiety and depression; NT-proBNT metrics are respectively

A range of new helicate-like architectures have been prepared via highly diastereoselective self-assembly using readily accessible starting materials. Six pairs of enantiomers [Fe2L3]Cl4.nH2O (L = various bidentate ditopic ligands NN–NN) show very good water solubility and stability. Their activity against a range of cancer cell lines in vitro is structure-dependent and gives IC50 values as low as 40 nM. In an isogenic pair of HCT116 colorectal cancer cells, preferential activity was observed against cell lines that lack functional p53. Selectivity is also excellent, and against healthy human retinal pigment epithelial (ARPE19) and lung fibroblast (WI38) cells IC50 values are nearly three orders of magnitude higher. Cisplatin is unselective in the same tests. The compounds also appear to have low general toxicity in a number of models: there is little if any antimicrobial activity against Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.; Acanthamoeba polyphaga is unaffected at 25 μg ml-1 (12.5 μM); Manduca sexta larvae showed clear evidence of systemic distribution of the drug, and rather than any observation of adverse effects they exhibited a significant mean weight gain vs controls. Investigation of the mode of action revealed no significant interaction of the molecules with DNA, and stimulation of substantial cell death by apoptosis

Adenosine Associated Pre- and Postconditioning in Real Medical Practice

It has been established that adenosine is a universal trigger of the processes of preparation (conditioning) of the myocardium for ischemic injury, which is confirmed by randomized clinical trials AMISTAD II, TIMI-4, TIMI-9B. Adenosine is included in the guidelines of the ESC Task Force (European Society of Cardiology) as a means of basic therapy, as a representative of the class of potassium channel stimulants (2019) [1]. However, the use of adenosine as an injectable form for intracoronary or intravenous administration is associated with a number of side effects - rapid degradation of the drug in the bloodstream, the need for careful monitoring of systemic hemodynamics (hypotension, tachy- or bradyarrhythmia, ventricular tachycardia, atrioventricular block), frequent development of undesirable gastrointestinal manifestations. All this prompted the search for an alternative form of adenosine use, which would allow wider use of the potentially beneficial effect of adenosine on ischemic pre- and post-conditioning in real medical practice. More recently, on the pharmaceutical market of Ukraine for the first time appeared a pharmacological agent - Advocard, as a drug with the ability to start the processes of pre- and post-conditioning, with sublingual (oral) form of application. Advocard is an original combined polypill drug with three components: adenosine-5-triphosphate-gluconate-magnesium (II) trisodium salt (magladen) – 18,6-29,25 mg, molsidomine – 0,3 mg and folic acid - 0,45 mg. Recommendations for the use of the Advocard in medical practice are based on the results of clinical studies, which proved that the oral (sublingual) form of adenosine is not only effective and appropriate, but also safe with long-term use. The therapeutic efficacy of Advocard in chronic coronary syndromes [stable, vasospastic, microvascular angina (pain of small coronary vessels), painless myocardial ischemia] and acute coronary syndromes (STEMI / NSTEMI, instability to stenocardia) before or immediately after coronary stenting is in counteracting the mechanisms of reperfusion injury. Clinical practice has shown that Advocard is appropriate for the prevention of NO-REFLOW after opening the epicardial coronary artery, even with the result of TIMI-3. Thus, the Advocard opens the prospect of improving the effectiveness of coronary interventions and is an adjunct to complete myocardial revascularization

Striving for sustainable development in the conditions of globalization processes and in the period of transformation of the country's economy, assessing the current state of corporate social responsibility (SCR) of construction enterprises, the need to study the state and trends of policy development and its implementation practice is determined. The social responsibility of companies, regarding the sustainable development of the whole society, is an important approach for construction enterprises in responding to new social and environmental problems. An important aspect of modern civilized business, including construction, is the basis of the csr concept, the implementation of which in the field of enterprise management has an extremely important direction not only for creating a positive image of the company, but also for increasing its competitiveness both on a global scale and at regional levels management. Therefore, the expediency of combining csr activities with the specifics of the company, which must invest in potentially useful areas of knowledge and innovative solutions, becomes especially important. The efficiency of construction enterprises that implement csr in their activities has not yet reached the optimal level, the influence of institutional factors on csr efficiency is complex and non-linear, and the improvement of csr efficiency in the construction industry depends on both the optimization of the institutional environment and the improvement of the potential of csr efficiency management. The necessary changes in the existing practice of csr management should have a certain systematicity, which should include the integration of csr principles, methods and tools in the economic activity of enterprises in order to ensure their competitiveness, achieve high productivity and profitability. The research was carried out with the help of a review of scientific literature, modern studies of expert organizations, public organizations and policy research on csr issues of construction enterprises. The results of the study showed that there have been major positive changes in the evolution of the csr concept in ukraine over the past few years, but there are still some unresolved problems with which enterprises are forced to work.
