Local Residents’ Preferences for Second Home Tourism Development Policies: A Choice Experiment nalysis

    Get PDF
This paper is concerned with the preferences of the rural residents living in areas subject to rapid second home tourism development in Iran. Since second home development could have positive and negative social, cultural, economical and environmental impacts for local residents, planning policies should take into consideration public opinions and preferences for future planning and developments. Using a choice experiment method, we attempt to estimate the values that the rural households in Tehran province would place on different impacts of second home development policies.second home, tourism, choice experiment method, Tehran

The effect of cell derived microparticles in transfusion medicine and adaptive immune system

    Get PDF
This article reviews will focus on the concept and formation of micro particles (MPs) in circulation and their role in transfusion medicine and immune system. MPs are cell membrane derived vesicles which express markers of their parent cells and are found in circulation at low levels. Exact functions of MPs are unclear. In here, Physiological almost all types of circulating MPs including platelets MPs (PMPs), leukocytes MPs (LMPs), red blood cells MPs (RMPs) and endothelial cells MPs (EMPs) have been discussed. Furthermore, MPs present in plasma and blood products and their levels increase during storage. Thus, it can be stated that MPs are likely to cause transfusion reactions, particularly thrombotic complications and Transfusion-Related Acute Lung Injury (TRALI). Also, it is shown that the MPs may affect the immune system. However, to prove these, more and extensive studies both in vivo and in vitro need to be done

Sonochemical synthesis and characterization of a novel hetro-binuclear metal organic nano polymer based on picolinic acid ligand

Nanoparticles of one new lead and K coordination polymer (CP), {[Pb(pyc)(N)K].½HO} (1) Hpyc = picolinic acid ligand, has been synthesized by use of a sonochemical process and characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) spectroscopy and elemental analyses. The single crystal X-ray data of compound 1 imply that the Pb ion is seven coordinated. The thermal stability of compound 1 has been studied by thermogravimetric (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The role of temperature, reaction time and ultrasound irradiation power on the size and morphfology of the nano-structured compound obtained from 1, have been investigated. Results indicate that an increase of temperature and sonication power and a decrease in time reaction led to a decrease of particle size

Sonochemical synthesis of a novel nanoscale 1D lead(II) [Pb2(L)2(I)4]n coordination Polymer, survey of temperature, reaction time parameters

One new lead(II) coordination supramolecular complex (CSC) (1D), [Pb(L)(I)], L = CHN (1-methyl imidazole), has been synthesized under different experimental conditions. Micrometric crystals (bulk) or nano-sized materials have been obtained depending on using the branch tube method or sonochemical irradiation. All materials have been characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and FT-IR spectroscopy. Single crystal X-ray analyses on complex 1 showed that Pb ion is 4-coordinated. Topological analysis shows that the complex 1 is 2,3,5C2 net. Finally, the role of reaction time and temperature on the growth and final morphology of the structures obtained by sonochemical irradiation have been studied

Comparative analysis of local residents’ perceptions of the impacts of tourism on rural areas: A case study of the villages in the basin of the Kolan river in Malayer County

Until now, a large number of studies on tourism in rural regions have concentrated on the recognition of its positive and negative impacts on economic, social, cultural, and environmental dimensions. However, considering the different views held by local people of the impact of tourism, few studies have been carried out to compare the perceptions of stakeholders, especially from the perspective of rural residents. This research aims to do a comparative analysis of the perceptions of local residents about the impacts of tourism on the villages of Kolan river basin in Malayer County. The research method is a mixed procedure. In the qualitative phase, during six sessions, group brainstorming was done by 60 persons participating as local volunteers. They tried to identify the positive and negative impacts of tourism. The findings in this phase were used to design a questionnaire as a measurement tool in the quantitative phase. As many as 350 questionnaires were given to 10% of the population over 15 years of age. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, cluster analysis, discriminant analysis, chi-square, and ANOVA. According to the exploratory factor analysis, the positive impacts were classified into economic, environmental, and social factors. Similarly, the negative impacts were classified into three factors in terms of environmental, social and security, and cultural impacts. The results of the cluster analysis showed three different perspectives. In most cases, there were significant differences between the perceptions of the local residents in terms of positive and negative impacts of tourism. The findings are consistent with the principles of social exchange theory

Sonochemical synthesis of two novel Pb(II) 2D metal coordination polymer complexes : new precursor for facile fabrication of lead(II) oxide/bromide micro-nanostructures

Two new lead(II) coordination polymer complexes (CSCs) (2D), [Pb(L)(Br)]·HO (1), [Pb(HL)(L)(HO)]·HO (2), where L = CHNO (2-pyridinecarboxylic acid) and L = CHO (1,3,5-tricarboxylic acid), have been synthesized under different experimental conditions. Micrometric crystals (bulk) or microsized materials have been obtained depending on using the branch tube method or sonochemical irradiation. All materials have been characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and FT-IR spectroscopy. Single crystal X-ray analyses on complexes 1 and 2 shows that Pb ions are 8-coordinated, 7 and 9-coordinated, respectively. Topological analysis shows that the compound 1 and 2 are 4,6L26 and bnn net, respectively. However, neither the shape nor the morphology is maintained, showing the role of sonochemistry to modulate both morphology and dimensions of the resulting crystalline material, independently of whether we have a 2D coordination polymer (CP). Finally, micro structuration of lead(II) bromide oxide and lead(II) oxide have been prepared by calcination of two different lead (II) CPs at 700 °C that were characterized by SEM and XRD

In the title compound, [CoCl2(C14H12N2)], the CoII atom is four-coordinated in a distorted tetrahedral geometry by two N atoms from a 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline ligand and two Cl atoms. The Co atom and the phenanthroline unit are located on a mirror plane. The methyl H atoms are disordered about the mirror plane and areeach half-occupied. In the crystal structure, π–π interactions between the pyridine and benzene rings and between the pyridine rings [centroid–centroid distances = 3.8821 (9) and 3.9502 (10) Å, respectively] stabilize the structure

    (Acetylacetonato)(dicyanamido)(1,10-phenanthroline)copper(II) dihydrate

In the title compound, [Cu(C5H7O2)(C2N3)(C12H8N2)]·2H2O, the CuII atom is five-coordinated in a square-pyramidal geometry with two acetylacetonate O and two phenanthroline N atoms forming the base. The apical position is occupied by the central N atom of the dicyanamide ligand. The dicyanamide N atoms are each involved in hydrogen bonds to water molecules. There are also hydrogen bonds between both the water molecules and their centrosymmetric pairs, creating a hydrogen-bonded chain along the b-axis direction
