Age-dependent peculiarities of echocardiographic parameters of the heart in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease
In present study echocardiographic features of the cardiovascular system in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) of different ages were examined. Structural and functional parameters of the heart change in nonalcoholic fatty liver patients with age: a progressive increase in the size of the left atrium, right ventricle, and decrease of ejection fraction. In young patients the formation of concentric remodeling and eccentric hypertrophy, in elderly patients β development of its concentric hypertrophy was observed. The above-mentioned requires timely use of cardio-protective drugs in the treatment of these patients
ASSOCIATION OF A313G POLYMORPHISM OF GSTP1 GENE WITH BIOCHEMICAL BLOOD PARAMETERS IN PATIENTS WITH NONALCOHOLIC FATTY LIVER DISEASE
Background: One of the key gene involved in chronic diffuse liver diseases pathogenesis, including nonalcoholic fatty liver disease are genes encoding the synthesis of glutathione-S-transferases. The objective of the study was to investigate a possible link between A313G polymorphism of the GSTP1 gene and biochemical blood parameters in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease patients. Methods: Gene polymorphism of GSTP1 (A313G) in 64 non-alcoholic fatty liver disease patients and 20 healthy individuals
(control group) was studied. The range of investigated biochemical blood parameters included: total bilirubin and its fractions, cholesterol, triglycerides, uric acid, total protein and albumin, urea, creatinine, plasma enzyme activity. Results: G-allele significantly more frequently by 2.47 times (OR = 2.47, CI = 1.01-6.03, p<0.05) occurred in observed patients compared with healthy individuals. Total bilirubin level in blood of patients with GG-genotype was by 19.7% (p = 0.03) and by 36.9% (p = 0.04) higher compared with AA-genotype and AG-genotype carriers respectively. Presence of G-allele was associated
with increased alanine aminotransferase activity, which was significantly higher in observed patients AG- and GG-genotypes carriers compared to patients with-AA genotype at 60.7% (p =0.03) and 51.0% (p = 0.04) respectively. Conclusions: Frequency of G-allele of GSTP1 gene was in 2.47 times (OR = 2.47, CI = 1.01-6.03, p<0.05) higher in
nonalcoholic fatty liver disease patients compared with healthy individuals in Ukrainian population. Presence of G-allele was associated with increased concentration of total bilirubin and higher activity of cytolytic syndrome in observed patients.ΠΠ°ΡΠ΅Π΄ΡΠ° ΠΏΡΠΎΠΏΠ΅Π΄Π΅Π²ΡΠΈΠΊΠΈ Π²Π½ΡΡΡΡΡΠ½ΡΡ

Azimuthally invariant phase tomography of optically anisotropic sections of biological tissues
Considered in this work is the theoretical background of the azimuthally stable method of Jones matrix mapping applied to histological sections of uterine neck biopsy based on spatial-frequency selection of the mechanisms responsible for linear and circular irefringence. The comparative results of measuring the coordinate distributions of the complex degree of mutual anisotropy formed by fibrillar networks of myosin and collagen fibrils of uterine neck tissue being in different pathological states β pre-cancer (dysplasia) and cancer (adenocarcinoma) β have been shown. The values and ranges of the change in the statistical (moments of the 1st to 4 th orders) parameters of the complex degree of mutual anisotropy of coordinate distributions have been studied. The objective criteria for diagnostics of pathology and differentiation of its severity degree have been determined
POLARIZATION-CORRELATION MICROSCOPY OF HUMAN LIQUID POLYCRYSTALLINE FILMS IN INFERTILITY DIAGNOSIS
A new azimuthally stable polarimetric method for processing of microscopic images of optically
anisotropic structures of different biological layers blood plasma is proposed. A new model of phase
anisotropy definition of biological tissues by using superposition of Mueller matrices of linear birefringence
and optical activity is proposed. The matrix element M 44 has been chosen as the main information parameter,
which value is independent of rotation angle of both sample and probing beam polarization plane
Age-Dependent Features of Certain Pro- and Anti-Inflammatory Cytokines in the Blood of Patients with Nonviral Liver Cirrhosis
Age-dependent features of tumor necrosis factor Ξ±, interleukin-4 and transforming growth factor Ξ²1 in the blood of patients with liver cirrhosis and their correlation with biochemical markers of liver injury were studied. It was found that in patients with liver cirrhosis cytokine system underwent significant changes. This resulted in increased blood plasma concentration of tumor necrosis factor Ξ± and transforming growth factor Ξ²1 compared with apparently healthy patients and in age-dependent increase of these cytokines. The blood content of interleukin-4 in patients with liver cirrhosis was reduced compared with controls, age-dependent changes of this cytokine concentration in blood werenβt detected. Correlation between the proinflammatory cytokine plasma levels and biochemical markers of cytolytic, cholestatic and mesenchymal-inflammatory syndromes was established, indicating a significant role of cytokine component of the immune system in the development and progression of liver cirrhosis

The efficiency of L-carnitine usage in the treatment of nonviral chronic active hepatitis patients has been studied. Positive influence of L-carnitine on the liver functional blood parameters that included a significant decrease in aspartat-, alanine aminotransferase and Ξ³-glutamiltranspeptidase blood activities was detected in observed patients. A significant reduction in interleukin-10 and tumor necrosis factor-Ξ± blood levels that indicated the normalization of pro- and antiinflammatory cytokine profile of the immune system was determined in patients who, in addition to the basic treatment, received L-carnitine. For a complete correction of the disease clinical manifestations, biochemical blood parameters, cytokine profile two weeks of L-carnitine appointment were not enough, requiring continuation of the chosen treatment during ambulant-policlinic period to reach complete remission.ΠΡΡΠ»Π΅Π΄ΠΎΠ²Π°Π½Π° ΡΡΡΠ΅ΠΊΡΠΈΠ²Π½ΠΎΡΡΡ ΠΈΡΠΏΠΎΠ»ΡΠ·ΠΎΠ²Π°Π½ΠΈΡ L-ΠΊΠ°ΡΠ½ΠΈΡΠΈΠ½Π° Π² ΠΊΠΎΠΌΠΏΠ»Π΅ΠΊΡΠ½ΠΎΠΌ Π»Π΅ΡΠ΅Π½ΠΈΠΈ Π±ΠΎΠ»ΡΠ½ΡΡ
