Tratamento cirúrgico da hérnia umbilical em bovinos

The authors studied the lateral overlapping mattress suture technique and successfully, performed the surgical repair in thirteen cases of umbilical hernia in the bovine. They discussed several operative techniques. This technique was reported for the first time by Sapiejko and Picolli in 1900. The authors examined the kinds of suture material used and employed “Vetafil“ a synthetic non absorbable suture material manufactured in Germany by the Bengen and Co. (Hannover). Contribution to the study of the intravenous anesthesia in the dog, by the "Pentobarbital sodium" (Nembutal)

Os A. A. estudam a anestesia geral intravenosa pelo pentobarbital (nembutal) no cão. Determinam processo de preparação fácil, utilizando o produto farmacêutico destinado à medicina humana, para aplicação como sedativo por via oral e apresentado sob forma de cápsulas de gelatina. Utilizam solução aquosa à 3%, administrada de acordo com o peso do animal (1cm3 por quilo de peso vivo). Dentre cerca de cinquenta casos j[a estudados apresentam dados detalhados de 11 (onze) dos quais 3 (três) com pré-anestesia (atropomorfina) e concluem sobre os principais sinais clínicos e a margem de segurança desse anestésico.The AA. study the intravenous general anesthesia by the pentobarbital (nembutal) in the dog. Utilising the pharmaceutical product employed in human medicine as sedative and presented in pulvules for oral use. They describe a simple process to make it profitable to intravenous administration. A 3 per cent aqueous solution of the medicament is administered proporcional to the animal body weight (1cm3 per kilogram.) Among over fifty studied cases they present detailed data of eleven ones, 3 of them with pre-anesthesia (atropomorphine) and establish the main clinical signs and the security margin of the anesthetic

Observações preliminares sobre anestesia geral potencializada em equinos puro-sangue de corridas

In the present paper the AA. describe the preliminary observations on the potentialization of the general anesthesia in the Thoroughbred Race Horses. Dose of 100/100 Kg body weight of Clorpromazina (Largatil or Amplictil) together with dose of 50 mg/100 Kg body weight of Prometazina (Phenergan) is administered by intravenous injection approximately twenty minutes before the anesthetic. A anesthetic solution containing 7.5 per cent of cloral hydrate and 6,13 per cent of magnesium sulfate is given by slow intravenous infusion. A satisfactory degree of anaesthesia is attained by employing those quantities per 100 Kg body weight. The authors studying again inguinal hysterocele ocurred in twelve bitches, they verified six cases with the presence of a pregnant uterine horn in the hernial sac; three cases with pyometra; two cases with fetal death and postmortem changes (maceration and mummification); and one case with chronic metritis. The incidence, the types, the diagnosis, the evolution and the surgical technic of this condition are discussed at this point of view concerned. Based on a research in the literature and on clinical observations the authors find that little attention has been given to the question in veterinary surgery.O artigo apresenta resumo em inglês

Tumor de células da granulosa em uma cadela

Estuda-se um caso de tumor de células da granulosa em cadela de 12 anos, apresentando a forma mista e sinais histológicos de malignidade. O animal não mostrou, aparentemente, sinais hormonais, mas, a histologia os revelou, interpretando-se como manifestação hiperhormonal. Depois do estudo desse grupo de tumores, passa-se à apresentação do caso, encarando dua feição clínica e anatômica.This is a report of a case of Granulosa-cell tumor (mixed type) in a bitch twelve years old. In spite of the benign clinical course, the tumor shows histological signs of malignancy. There was no clinical evidences of hormonal action, but the endometrium shows glandular hyperplasia with cystic dilatation of the endometrial glands. The animal had a corneal exulceration that has healed after the tumor removal. The clinical and anatomical pattern of the tumor were stidied after a general review of the veterinary literature about this subject

Contribuição para o estudo da raquianestesia peridural no cão

Studies on the application of small doses of procaine (Scurocaine 5 and 9 per cent) in the peridural (epidural) anesthesia in dogs, have been carried out.
