- Field of study
The Cabibbo-suppressed decay Λb0→χc1pπ− is
observed for the first time using data from proton-proton collisions
corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6fb−1, collected with the
LHCb detector at a centre-of-mass energy of 13TeV. Evidence for the
Λb0→χc2pπ− decay is also found. Using the
Λb0→χc1pK− decay as normalisation channel, the
ratios of branching fractions are measured to be B(Λb0→χc1pK−)B(Λb0→χc1pπ−)=(6.59±1.01±0.22)×10−2,B(Λb0→χc1pπ−)B(Λb0→χc2pπ−)=0.95±0.30±0.04±0.04,B(Λb0→χc1pK−)B(Λb0→χc2pK−)=1.06±0.05±0.04±0.04, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is
systematic and the third is due to the uncertainties in the branching fractions
of χc1,2→J/ψγ decays

Two narrow resonant states are observed in the Λb0K-π+ mass spectrum using a data sample of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, collected by the LHCb experiment and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb-1. The minimal quark content of the Λb0K-π+ system indicates that these are excited Ξb0 baryons. The masses of the Ξb(6327)0 and Ξb(6333)0 states are m[Ξb(6327)0]=6327.28-0.21+0.23±0.12±0.24 and m[Ξb(6333)0]=6332.69-0.18+0.17±0.03±0.22 MeV, respectively, with a mass splitting of Δm=5.41-0.27+0.26±0.12 MeV, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and due to the Λb0 mass measurement. The measured natural widths of these states are consistent with zero, with upper limits of Γ[Ξb(6327)0]<2.20(2.56) and Γ[Ξb(6333)0]<1.60(1.92) MeV at a 90% (95%) credibility level. The significance of the two-peak hypothesis is larger than nine (five) Gaussian standard deviations compared to the no-peak (one-peak) hypothesis. The masses, widths, and resonant structure of the new states are in good agreement with the expectations for a doublet of 1D Ξb0 resonances

The single electron track-reconstruction efficiency is calibrated using a sample corresponding to 1.3 fb−1 of pp collision data recorded with the LHCb detector in 2017. This measurement exploits B+→ J/ψ(e+e−)K+ decays, where one of the electrons is fully reconstructed and paired with the kaon, while the other electron is reconstructed using only the information of the vertex detector. Despite this partial reconstruction, kinematic and geometric constraints allow the B meson mass to be reconstructed and the signal to be well separated from backgrounds. This in turn allows the electron reconstruction efficiency to be measured by matching the partial track segment found in the vertex detector to tracks found by LHCb's regular reconstruction algorithms. The agreement between data and simulation is evaluated, and corrections are derived for simulated electrons in bins of kinematics. These correction factors allow LHCb to measure branching fractions involving single electrons with a systematic uncertainty below 1%

We present an angular analysis of the
B

-averaged angular observables is measured in intervals of the dimuon invariant mass squared. Local deviations from standard model predictions are observed, similar to those in previous LHCb analyses of the isospin-partner
B

→
K

μ
+
μ
−
decay. The global tension is dependent on which effective couplings are considered and on the choice of theory nuisance parameters

- Field of study
The decays B+→J/ψπ+π−K+ are studied using a data
set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9fb−1 collected with the
LHCb detector in proton-proton collisions between 2011 and 2018. Precise
measurements of the ratios of branching fractions with the intermediate
ψ2(3823), χc1(3872) and ψ(2S) states are reported. The decay
of B+→ψ2(3823)K+ with ψ2(3823)→Jψπ+π− is observed for the first time with a significance of 5.1
standard deviations. The mass differences between the ψ2(3823),
χc1(3872) and ψ(2S) states are measured to be mχc1(3872)−mψ2(3823)mψ2(3823)−mψ(2S)mχc1(3872)−mψ(2S)===47.50±0.53±0.13MeV/c2,137.98±0.53±0.14MeV/c2,185.49±0.06±0.03MeV/c2, resulting in the
most precise determination of the χc1(3782) mass. The width of the
ψ2(3823) state is found to be below 5.2MeV at 90\% confidence level. The
Breit-Wigner width of the χc1(3872) state is measured to be Γχc1(3872)BW=0.96−0.18+0.19±0.21MeV, which is inconsistent with zero by 5.5 standard deviations

Mesons comprising a beauty quark and a strange quark can oscillate between
particle (B0s) and antiparticle (B0s) flavour eigenstates, with a frequency
given by the mass difference between heavy and light mass eigenstates, deltams.
Here we present ameasurement of deltams using B0s2DsPi decays produced in
proton-proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector at the Large Hadron
Collider. The oscillation frequency is found to be deltams = 17.7683 +- 0.0051
+- 0.0032 ps-1, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second
systematic. This measurement improves upon the current deltams precision by a
factor of two. We combine this result with previous LHCb measurements to
determine deltams = 17.7656 +- 0.0057 ps-1, which is the legacy measurement of

Searches for rare Bs0 and B0 decays into four muons are performed
using proton-proton collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment,
corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb−1. Direct decays
and decays via light scalar and J/ψ resonances are considered. No evidence
for the six decays searched for is found and upper limits at the 95% confidence
level on their branching fractions ranging between 1.8×10−10 and
2.6×10−9 are set

-boson production mechanism and can also be used to probe transverse-momentum-dependent parton distributions within the proton

A search for time-dependent violation of the charge-parity symmetry in D0→K+K− and D0→π+π− decays is performed at the LHCb experiment using proton-proton collision data recorded from 2015 to 2018 at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb−1. The D0 meson is required to originate from a D∗(2010)+→D0π+ decay, such that its flavour at production is identified by the charge of the accompanying pion. The slope of the time-dependent asymmetry of the decay rates of D0 and Dˉ0 mesons into the final states under consideration is measured to be ΔYK+K−=(−2.3±1.5±0.3)×10−4, ΔYπ+π−=(−4.0±2.8±0.4)×10−4, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. These results are compatible with the conservation of the charge-parity symmetry at the level of 2 standard deviations and improve the precision by nearly a factor of two
