Optimisation Of Processing Parameters Of Resin System In Development Of Adf Radome Fairings For Tu-142m Aircraft
This report highlights the optimization processing parameters for the resin system used in the fabrication of radomes for the TU-142 M aircraft . The radomes were fabricated using the standardised RIT process developed in-house with optimized parameters
RADOME PAINT INDIGENISATION-SOME INITIATIVES
Polyurethane based Radome paints were used for different projects such as Saras Radome, TDF Radome, Jaguar Radome, taken up in FRP Division. These paint formulations (imported)were characterized through different techniques before their application on the actual components. Since these paints are imported, several supply and storage problems were encountered. In addition, these imported paints were found to be too expensive and posed other practical problems related to storage, procurement etc., In this background, with the expertise on various characterization techniques available within FRP Division, gained under different programs, efforts have been initiated towards indigenization of these paint formulations. This report presents a brief gist of these efforts
DEVELOPMENT OF SPECIALITY RESINS FOR RADOME APPLICATIONS
To develop a low Dielectric Constant and low Loss Tangent material for radome applications, different grades of polyester resins were formulated using Diallylpthalate and Triallyl Cyanurate as additives and studied for their electromagnetic properties
Phenolic novolac IPNs for High Performance Composite Applications
Polymer matrix composites(PMC) are the choicest among
the structural grade materials for advanced composite
applications, which require excellent mechanical properties. Though their unmatched specific strength/
stiffness and light weight characteristics are contributed
by the fiber phase, the crucial long term properties like,
high service temperature resistance, damage tolerance 0 and hot-wet property retention are provided by the polymer matrix phase. Thus a high performance composite is a combination of advanced reinforcements like carbon/Glass fibers, and polymer matrix with high glass transition temperature toughness and low moisture up take
