EMPLOYMENT, GENDER, EDUCATION AND OTHER RELEVANT VARIABLES: THE FINANCIAL CRISIS IMPACT IN SPAIN
Abstract The present paper aims to ascertain whether gender differences continue to exist in Spain’s working population. It sets out to obtain empirical evidence of the employment profile according to gender, quantify the extent to which self-employment or salaried employment is associated with certain characteristics (age, education, marital status and economic sector) and to analyse the evolution undergone during the recent economic crisis (2005-2009). In the study multivariate analysis statistical techniques will be applied to micro-data from the Working Population Survey compiled by Spain’s National Statistics Office (INE). Results shows that significant gender differences in employment status are seen when this is disaggregated and that the economic crisis has had a negative impact especially in certain groups.

Basis-independent partial matchings induced by morphisms between persistence modules
In this paper, we study how basis-independent partial matchings induced by
morphisms between persistence modules (also called ladder modules) can be
defined. Besides, we extend the notion of basis-independent partial matchings
to the situation of a pair of morphisms with same target persistence module.
The relation with the state-of-the-art methods is also given. Apart form the
basis-independent property, another important property that makes our partial
matchings different to the state-of-the-art ones is their linearity with
respect to ladder modules
Performances of multi-gap timing RPCs for relativistic ions in the range Z=1-6
We present the performance of Multi-gap timing RPCs under irradiation by
fully stripped relativistic ions (gamma*beta=2.7, Z=1-6). A time resolution of
80 ps at high efficiency has been obtained by just using standard `off the
shelf' 4-gap timing RPCs from the new HADES ToF wall. The resolution worsened
to 100 ps for ~ 1 kHz/cm2 proton flux and for ~ 100 Hz/cm2 Carbon flux. The
chambers were operated at a standard field of E=100 kV/cm and showed a high
stability during the experiment, supporting the fact that RPCs are a convenient
choice when accommodating a very broad range of ionizing particles is needed.
The data provides insight in the region of very highly ionizing particles (up
to x 36 mips) and can be used to constrain the existing avalanche and
Space-Charge models far from the usual `mip valley'. The implications of these
results for the general case of detection based on secondary processes (n,
gamma) resulting in highly ionizing particles with characteristic energy
distributions will be discussed, together with the nature of the time-charge

Incremental-Decremental Algorithm for Computing AT-Models and Persistent Homology
In this paper, we establish a correspondence between the incremental algorithm for computing AT-models [8,9] and the one for computing persistent homology [6,14,15]. We also present a decremental algorithm for computing AT-models that allows to extend the persistence computation to a wider setting. Finally, we show how to combine incremental and decremental techniques for persistent homology computation
