[Individual identity and musical practice in intercultural contexts. The experience of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra]. This article focuses on the famous youth orchestra founded in 1999 by Daniel Barenboim and Edward Said. Every year, young musicians from Israel and Arab countries together spend a period of training and playing in an orchestra that holds concerts all over the world. According Barenboim and Said this promotes mutual understanding between people coming from geopolitical and national realities in conflict. This article focuses on the philosophical and intercultural meaning of this experience and interprets it according to the theory of multiple identities by Amartya Sen and the specificity of the language of music

Weighted frames, weighted lower semi frames and unconditionally convergent multipliers

In this paper we ask when it is possible to transform a given sequence into a frame or a lower semi frame by multiplying the elements by numbers. In other words, we ask when a given sequence is a weighted frame or a weighted lower semi frame and for each case we formulate a conjecture. We determine several conditions under which these conjectures are true. Finally, we prove an equivalence between two older conjectures, the first one being that any unconditionally convergent multiplier can be written as a multiplier of Bessel sequences by shifting of weights, and the second one that every unconditionally convergent multiplier which is invertible can be written as a multiplier of frames by shifting of weights. We also show that these conjectures are also related to one of the newly posed conjectures.Comment: 14 page

Factores que influyen en la calidad de la aplicación de la estrategia de AIEPI por el personal de enfermería del puesto de salud El Progreso durante el II semestre 2015

La Atención Integral a las Enfermedades Prevalentes en la Infancia (AIEPI), es una estrategia elaborada para erradicar la morbi- mortalidad infantil donde la calidad de la aplicación de esta estrategia, es una de las formas de maximizar los beneficios para la salud de los infantes. La temática de este estudio está basado en la calidad de la aplicación de la estrategia AIEPI por el personal de enfermería del puesto de salud el Progreso del Municipio de Matagalpa durante el segundo semestre 2015, mediante el cual se da a conocer la caracterización demográfica del personal de enfermería en estudio. Las principales conclusiones son: caracterizar al personal de enfermería del puesto de salud el Progreso el cual cumple de acuerdo al perfil académico que orienta las normas, cuentan con suficiente experiencia laboral y con accesibilidad a su centro de trabajo ,Se identificó que los factores que afectaron en la calidad de la aplicación de la estrategia AIEPI fueron: la demanda de pacientes, la falta de recursos humanos y la falta de recursos materiales, Se determinó que el personal de enfermería es competente para el cumplimiento del abordaje de la estrategia AIEPI

Self-determination and quality of life: A program for the enhancement of adults with intellectual disabilities

Las personas con discapacidad intelectual parecen ocupar un segundo plano en la toma de decisiones que conciernen a su propia calidad de vida. El objetivo general de la presente investigación es evaluar un programa ideado para promocionar la autodeterminación y la calidad de vida de estas personas. Se recurrió a un diseño cuasi-experimental pretest-posttest con grupo control sin tratamiento. La muestra fue seleccionada intencionalmente y estuvo compuesta por 20 personas, mayores de edad, con discapacidad intelectual, usuarias de la Unidad de Día ATUREM y que acudían con regularidad al centro. El procedimiento se implantó durante dos meses. Los resultados informan de un incremento de las puntuaciones del grupo experimental frente al grupo control. De este modo, el programa apuesta por la autodeterminación como elemento directamente relacionado con la mejora de la calidad de vida y la integración en la comunidad de las personas adultas con discapacidad intelectual.People with intellectual disabilities seem to take second place in making decisions regarding their own quality of life. The main aim of this research is to evaluate a program designed to promote self-determination and quality of life of these people. We used a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest with control group without treatment. The sample was selected intentionally and it was composed of 20 people, adults with intellectual disabilities, users of ATUREM Day Unit and regularly attending the center. The procedure was implemented for two months. The results support the main aim. The program is committed to self-determination as directly related to the improvement of quality of life and community integration of adults with intellectual disabilities

Singularity crossing phenomena in nonlinear electrical circuits

In a nonlinear system a singular crossing point is a singular point such that there is at least one solution crossing through it. In this article we study a family of nonlinear electrical circuits, that can be represented by nonlinear Implicit Differential Equations -IDEs-. We set conditions that ensure the existence of singular crossing points in these circuits. There are different approaches to this problem for a given general IDE, but the results we get for this family of circuits allow us to find these points in an extremely simple way.
