Star Products on Coadjoint Orbits
We study properties of a family of algebraic star products defined on
coadjoint orbits of semisimple Lie groups. We connect this description with the
point of view of differentiable deformations and geometric quantization.Comment: Talk given at the XXIII ICGTMP, Dubna (Russia) August 200
Toeplitz operators on symplectic manifolds
We study the Berezin-Toeplitz quantization on symplectic manifolds making use
of the full off-diagonal asymptotic expansion of the Bergman kernel. We give
also a characterization of Toeplitz operators in terms of their asymptotic
expansion. The semi-classical limit properties of the Berezin-Toeplitz
quantization for non-compact manifolds and orbifolds are also established.Comment: 40 page
Impulsive waves in electrovac direct product spacetimes with Lambda
A complete family of non-expanding impulsive waves in spacetimes which are
the direct product of two 2-spaces of constant curvature is presented. In
addition to previously investigated impulses in Minkowski, (anti-)Nariai and
Bertotti-Robinson universes, a new explicit class of impulsive waves which
propagate in the exceptional electrovac Plebanski-Hacyan spacetimes with a
cosmological constant Lambda is constructed. In particular, pure gravitational
waves generated by null particles with an arbitrary multipole structure are
described. The metrics are impulsive members of a more general family of the
Kundt spacetimes of type II. The well-known pp-waves are recovered for
Lambda=0.Comment: 6 pages, 1 figure, LaTeX 2e. To appear in Class. Quantum Gra
Legendrian Distributions with Applications to Poincar\'e Series
Let be a compact Kahler manifold and a quantizing holomorphic
Hermitian line bundle. To immersed Lagrangian submanifolds of
satisfying a Bohr-Sommerfeld condition we associate sequences , where is a
holomorphic section of . The terms in each sequence concentrate
on , and a sequence itself has a symbol which is a half-form,
, on . We prove estimates, as , of the norm
squares in terms of . More generally, we show that if and
are two Bohr-Sommerfeld Lagrangian submanifolds intersecting
cleanly, the inner products have an
asymptotic expansion as , the leading coefficient being an integral
over the intersection . Our construction is a
quantization scheme of Bohr-Sommerfeld Lagrangian submanifolds of . We prove
that the Poincar\'e series on hyperbolic surfaces are a particular case, and
therefore obtain estimates of their norms and inner products.Comment: 41 pages, LaTe
Parallelisable Heterotic Backgrounds
We classify the simply-connected supersymmetric parallelisable backgrounds of
heterotic supergravity. They are all given by parallelised Lie groups admitting
a bi-invariant lorentzian metric. We find examples preserving 4, 8, 10, 12, 14
and 16 of the 16 supersymmetries.Comment: 17 pages, AMSLaTe
An explicit formula for the Berezin star product
We prove an explicit formula of the Berezin star product on Kaehler
manifolds. The formula is expressed as a summation over certain strongly
connected digraphs. The proof relies on a combinatorial interpretation of
Englis' work on the asymptotic expansion of the Laplace integral.Comment: 19 pages, to appear in Lett. Math. Phy
Light Induced Increase of Electron Diffusion Length in a p n Junction Type CH3NH3PbBr3 Perovskite Solar Cell
High band gap, high open circuit voltage solar cells with methylammonium lead tribromide MAPbBr3 perovskite absorbers are of interest for spectral splitting and photoelectrochemical applications, because of their good performance and ease of processing. The physical origin of high performance in these and similar perovskite based devices remains only partially understood. Using cross sectional electron beaminduced current EBIC measurements, we find an increase in carrier diffusion length in MAPbBr3 Cl based solar cells upon low intensity a few percent of 1 sun intensity blue laser illumination. Comparing dark and illuminated conditions, the minority carrier electron diffusion length increases about 3.5 times from Ln 100 50 nm to 360 22 nm. The EBIC cross section profile indicates a p amp; 8722;n structure between the n FTO TiO2 and p perovskite, rather than the p amp; 8722;i amp; 8722;n structure, reported for the iodide derivative. On the basis of the variation in space charge region width with varying bias, measured by EBIC and capacitance amp; 8722;voltage measurements, we estimate the net doping concentration in MAPbBr3 Cl to be 3 amp; 8722;6 1017 cm amp; 8722;
Bianchi type II,III and V diagonal Einstein metrics re-visited
We present, for both minkowskian and euclidean signatures, short derivations
of the diagonal Einstein metrics for Bianchi type II, III and V. For the first
two cases we show the integrability of the geodesic flow while for the third
case a somewhat unusual bifurcation phenomenon takes place: for minkowskian
signature elliptic functions are essential in the metric while for euclidean
signature only elementary functions appear
Further results on non-diagonal Bianchi type III vacuum metrics
We present the derivation, for these vacuum metrics, of the Painlev\'e VI
equation first obtained by Christodoulakis and Terzis, from the field equations
for both minkowskian and euclidean signatures. This allows a complete
discussion and the precise connection with some old results due to Kinnersley.
The hyperk\"ahler metrics are shown to belong to the Multi-Centre class and for
the cases exhibiting an integrable geodesic flow the relevant Killing tensors
are given. We conclude by the proof that for the Bianchi B family, excluding
type III, there are no hyperk\"ahler metrics.Comment: 21 pages, no figure
Toeplitz Quantization of K\"ahler Manifolds and
For general compact K\"ahler manifolds it is shown that both Toeplitz
quantization and geometric quantization lead to a well-defined (by operator
norm estimates) classical limit. This generalizes earlier results of the
authors and Klimek and Lesniewski obtained for the torus and higher genus
Riemann surfaces, respectively. We thereby arrive at an approximation of the
Poisson algebra by a sequence of finite-dimensional matrix algebras ,
