New long time existence results for a class of Boussinesq-type systems
In this paper we deal with the long time existence for the Cauchy problem
associated to some asymptotic models for long wave, small amplitude gravity
surface waves. We generalize some of the results that can be found in the
literature devoted to the study of Boussinesq systems by implementing an energy
method on spectrally localized equations. In particular, we obtain better
results in terms of the regularity level required to solve the initial value
problem on large time scales
The Quale of Time
Time is one of the greatest subjects of interest to the disciplines of both Science and Philosophy, being seen to have a greater importance in the workings of reality than other entities. In this paper, a phenomenological analysis of time based on the general workings of the emergent structure of consciousness will be done, and time will be shown to be no different than any other qualia. It will be shown that, like any other qualia, time is an emergent level of consciousness, manifesting all the properties of emergence: inheritance of qualities from the previous levels, top-down influence in levels received from the higher levels and top-down influence in levels impressed on the lower levels
FISCAL POLICY AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN ROMANIA
The connection between fiscal policy and economic growth is not a strong one, takinginto account that fiscal policy is not a fundamental source of growth. Even so, governmentauthorities could use fiscal policy to affect in an indirect manner the economic growth. We will tryto highlight this indirect connection and its strength on Romania’s case using a specificeconometric methodology which takes into account the restrictions imposed by the government’sbudget constraint and we will identify the specific fiscal policy measures which could enhanceeconomic growth in Romania.fiscal policy, economic growth, government budget constraint
EUROPEAN ECONOMIC MODEL: QUE VADIS UE?
Recent evolutions in Europe raise questions on the viability of the actual economic and social model that defines the European construction project. In this paper, I will try to explain the viability of institutional European model that stick between free market mechanisms and protectionism. The main challenge for the EU is about the possibility to bring together the institutional convergence and the wellbeing for all Europeans. If „development through integration” seems to be harmonization through „institutional transplant”, how could then be the European model one sufficiently wide open to market which creates the prosperity so long waited for by new member countries?economic model, institutions, economic integration, competition
