ANGULAR DISTRIBUTIONS OF HIGH-MASS DILEPTONS WITH SOFT-GLUON EMISSION EFFECTS

    Get PDF
The angular distributions for dileptons arising from decays of a virtual photon and the Z°-boson produced in pp collision are calculated at large mass M and finite transverse momentum QT of dileptons with A≪QT≪M, taking into account the soft-gluon emission effects in all orders of a_s (in double leading-logarithm approximation). Numerical evaluation for the differential cross-section dσ/dMdydQT^2 and the coefficient of parity-violating term ξ(M, QT) in the angular distribution is carried out for pp collision at √=540 GeV and y=0 in the limit QT/M→0 in the Gottfried-Jackson reference frame. We point out that the soft-gluon emission effects in the coefficient ξ(M, QT) are deeply related to the scale-violation effects in the parton distribution

    Progress Report

I report here, in chronological order, the titles, the collaborator(s) if any and the abstracts of my scientific papers as well as the name of the journals in which the papers were published (with volume, the page, published year). I restrict myself to the publications made during recent five years starting from 1974 until September 1979 and do not present the earlier publications. The abstracts for some of the papers communicated as Letters in Progress of Theoretical Physics and in Lettere al Nuovo Cimento are written specially for this Progress Report

COUNTING THE NUMBER OF NEUTRINO SPECIES

    Get PDF
We discuss the methods of determining the number of neutrino species N_ν, one of the most important numbers in particle physics and playing an important role in the Big Bang nucleosynthesis. As useful measures for the N_ν, we consider the reactions: [numerical formula]+anything, [numerical formula]+anything, [numerical formula]+anything, [numerical formula]+anything, and [numerical formula]+anything, most of which are discussed for the first time in this article. Particular emphasis is placed upon the transverse momentum spectra in the reaction: [numerical formula]+jet+anything, accomp-anying a hadronic jet with large transverse momentum
