Derivation of Feynman Rules for Higher Order Poles Using Cross-ratio Identities in CHY Construction

In order to generalize the integration rules to general CHY integrands which include higher order poles, algorithms are proposed in two directions. One is to conjecture new rules, and the other is to use the cross-ratio identity method. In this paper,we use the cross-ratio identity approach to re-derive the conjectured integration rules involving higher order poles for several special cases: the single double pole, single triple pole and duplex-double pole. The equivalence between the present formulas and the previously conjectured ones is discussed for the first two situations.Comment: 29 pages, 11 figure

    On Multi-step BCFW Recursion Relations

In this paper, we extensively investigate the new algorithm known as the multi-step BCFW recursion relations. Many interesting mathematical properties are found and understanding these aspects, one can find a systematic way to complete the calculation of amplitude after finite, definite steps and get the correct answer, without recourse to any specific knowledge from field theories, besides mass dimension and helicities. This process consists of the pole concentration and inconsistency elimination. Terms that survive inconsistency elimination cannot be determined by the new algorithm. They include polynomials and their generalizations, which turn out to be useful objects to be explored. Afterwards, we apply it to the Standard Model plus gravity to illustrate its power and limitation. Ensuring its workability, we also tentatively discuss how to improve its efficiency by reducing the steps.Comment: 38 pages, 13 figures, 3 appendice

A mobile sensing solution for indoor and outdoor state detection

Abstract. One important research challenge in ubiquitous computing is determining a device’s indoor/outdoor environmental state. Particularly with modern smartphones, environmental information is important for enabling of new types of services and optimizing already existing functionalities. This thesis presents a tool for Android-powered smartphones called ContextIO for detecting the device’s indoor/outdoor state by combining different onboard sensors of the device itself. To develop ContextIO, we developed a plugin to AWARE mobile sensing framework. Together the plugin and its separate controller component collect rich environmental sensor data. The data analysis and ContextIO’s design considers collected data particularly about magnetometer, ambient light and GSM cellular signal strength. We manually derive thresholds in the data that can be used in combination to infer whether a device is indoor or outdoor. ContextIO uses the same thresholds to infer the state in real time. This thesis contributes an Android tool for inferring the device’s indoor/outdoor status, an open dataset that other researchers can use in their work and an analysis of the collected sensor data for environmental indoor/outdoor state detection.Tiivistelmä. Yksi jokapaikan tietotekniikan tutkimuskysymyksistä keskittyy selvittämään onko laitteen sijainti sisä- vai ulkotilassa. Etenkin uudet älypuhelimet pystyvät hyödyntämään tätä tietoa uudenlaisten palveluiden ja sovellusten kehittämisessä sekä vanhojen toiminnallisuuksien optimoinnissa. Tämä diplomityö esittelee Android-käyttöjärjestelmällä toimiville puhelimille suunnatun työkalun nimeltään ContextIO. Työkalu yhdistelee älypuhelimen sensorien tuottamaa tietoa ja havaitsee laitteen siirtymisen eri sijaintiin sisä- ja ulkotilojen suhteen. ContextIO:n suunnittelu ja kehitystyö perustuvat data-analyysiin, jonka data kerättiin AWARE-sensorialustan liitännäisellä sekä erillisellä nimeämistyökalulla. Data-analyysi keskittyy magnetometrin, valosensorin sekä GSM-kentän voimakkuuden hyödyntämiseen paikantamisessa. Kerätystä datasta määriteltiin raja-arvot, joita yhdistelemällä voidaan varsin luotettavasti todeta laitteen sijainti sisä- ja ulkotilojen suhteen. Nämä raja-arvot luovat perustan ContextIO:n reaaliaikaiselle laitteen sijainnin määrittämiselle. Tämän diplomityön pääasialliset tulokset ovat työkalu Android-pohjaisten älypuhelinten sijainnin määrittämiseen sisä- ja ulkotilojen suhteen, avoin datasetti, jota muut tutkijat voivat käyttää sekä sijainnin määrittämiseen keskittyvä data-analyysi

Exploring the Design and Practice of Ideological and Political Education in the Course of Tunnel Engineering under the Background of New Engineering Discipline: A Case Study of Hope College, Southwest Jiaotong University

Under the background of the new engineering discipline, talent cultivation requires not only intellectual education but also moral education. In response to the main issues concerning ideological and political education in the current new engineering discipline curriculum, this paper focuses on exploring the process of ideological and political construction in tunnel engineering. It highlights the necessity of curriculum-based ideological and political education and the exploration of ideological and political elements. These elements are cleverly integrated into the course design, and the effectiveness of the ideological and political practice in the curriculum is examined through an evaluation of teaching outcomes. The aim is to improve the educational effectiveness of the tunnel engineering construction course and provide valuable insights and references for the ideological and political construction in other engineering disciplines

Information order in monotone decision problems under uncertainty

This paper examines the robustness of Lehmann’s ranking of experiments (Lehmann, 1988) for decisionmakers who are uncertainty-averse à la Cerreia- Vioglio et al. (2011). We show that, assuming commitment, for all uncertaintyaverse indices satisfying some mild assumptions, Lehmann’s informativeness ranking is equivalent to the induced uncertainty-averse value ranking of experiments for all agents with single-crossing vNM utility indices (Theorem 1). Moreover, Lehmann ranking can also be detected by varying the uncertainty-averse indices for a fixed finite collection of vNM utility indices (Theorem 2). Our findings suggest that Lehmann’s ranking can be a useful enrichment of Blackwell’s ranking for monotone decision problems even if ambiguity is present. We apply our results to social aggregation of information preferences and investment decision problems

Online healthcare communities (OHCs) encourage people to disclose their personal information with others to seek support and to accelerate research and help create better treatments. However, disclosing personal information might cause privacy disclosure and some risks. This paper aims to explore what factors and how those factors affect people’s personal information disclosure intention in OHCs. Based on “risk-motivation” perspective, we identify perceived usefulness as extrinsic motivation and social support as intrinsic motivation, and distinguish four kinds of risks to test those motivation and risk factors’ effects on people’s personal information disclose intention in OHCs. As two constructs describing the characteristics of OHCs, expected disease severe extent and common identity are supposed having moderating effects’ on motivation and risk factors’ effects. The theoretical contribution of this paper is offering a model to explain people’s personal information disclose intention in OHCs and integrate constructs to describe the characteristic of OHCs; the practical implications is providing insight on OHC managers’ operation for communities’ viability and people’s privacy protection. Finally, limitations and future works also are presented

The rapid development of emerging technologies such as BIM has greatly promoted the intelligent development of prefabricated building construction. This paper adopts a research method that combines on-site investigation, field testing, and technological development to explore quality control in prefabricated building construction and the integration of prefabricated buildings with intelligent construction. Focusing on three key technologies in prefabricated building construction - component installation, on-site layout, and steel connection—the paper examines the technical principles, operational processes, and application effects. It also studies and develops intelligent construction-related technologies such as, accurate alignment of prefabricated components, intelligent layout technology and simultaneous self-locking connection technology for multiple steel. Additionally, two types of rapid steel layout equipment are developed. These findings provide references for the further integration of prefabricated concrete construction with intelligent construction
