    Implementation of an efficient Fuzzy Logic based Information Retrieval System

    This paper exemplifies the implementation of an efficient Information Retrieval (IR) System to compute the similarity between a dataset and a query using Fuzzy Logic. TREC dataset has been used for the same purpose. The dataset is parsed to generate keywords index which is used for the similarity comparison with the user query. Each query is assigned a score value based on its fuzzy similarity with the index keywords. The relevant documents are retrieved based on the score value. The performance and accuracy of the proposed fuzzy similarity model is compared with Cosine similarity model using Precision-Recall curves.     Performance Evaluation in Energy consumption of Mobile Ad-Hoc Network to increase the Network Lifetime

    MANET is self configuring network. It has many design issues like scalability, energy consumption etc.In this paper, an overview of the Distributed mutual exclusion algorithm & various enhanced variations done on distributed mutual exclusion. In DME Permission-based algorithm is used for discovering clusters of the nodes. The initial point selection effects on the results of the algorithm, in the number of clusters found and their cluster headers. Methods to enhance the Permission-based clustering algorithm are discussed. With the help of these methods increase the concurrency between the nodes, decrease the synchronization delay and decrease response time. Some enhanced variations improve the efficiency and accuracy of algorithm. Basically in all the methods the main aim is to increase the life of each node in the network or increase the battery power which will decrease the computational time. Various enhancements done on DME are collected, so by using these enhancements one can build a new hybrid algorithm which will be more efficient, accurate and less time consuming than the previous work

    COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY AND PHYTOCHEMICAL CONTENTS IN ETHANOLIC LEAF EXTRACTS OF IN VITRO AND FIELD GROWN WITHANIA SOMNIFERA

    Objective: The present study was planned to compare antioxidant activity in vitro and field grown Withania somnifera was assessed using 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and nitric oxide (NO) assays. Medicinal plants are a major source of phytochemicals used for the treatments of human diseases. W. somnifera has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties.Methods: Antioxidant activity and phytochemical contents in W. somnifera were determined spectrophotometrically.Results: The results of antioxidant activity of field grown ethanolic leaf extract of W. somnifera showed maximum inhibition of 72.08% and 77.85%in DPPH (50 μg/ml) and NO (100 μg/ml) scavenging assays, respectively. Field grown ethanolic leaf extract of W. somnifera showed maximumconcentrations of phenolics, flavonoids, and carotenoids, as active phytochemicals, determined spectrophotometrically, which were found as676.5 μg/ml, 557.5 μg/ml, and 469 μg/ml, respectively, as compared to in vitro plant extracts.Conclusions: This study demonstrated that antioxidant activity and phytochemical contents of field grown ethanolic leaf extract of W. somnifera were found to be comparatively higher than in vitro plant extracts.
