Cutting Tool Vibration in the Metal Cutting Process

    No full text
Research of machining dynamics have longstanding history in manufacturing processes with consideration of cutting interruption, intermittency, and coupled interaction between the tool and workpiece. It gives better understanding of the underlying physics of material removal. The complex motions in cutting dynamics are mainly caused by discontinuities, including chip and tool – piece seizure and complex stick–slip motion. Through the application of discontinuous system theory, a comprehensive understanding of the grazing phenomena is induced by the boundary of frictional-velocity and the loss of contact between the tool- and workpiece are discussed. Significant insights are to control machine – tool vibration and to develop tool wear free machine – tool concept. The experiment on the Stainless steel machining research is shown here and the creation of machine tool vibrations and cutting dynamics is represented in this paper

Ball Burnishing as Finish Method of Compressor Shaft Wear Sleeve

    No full text
Nowadays more and more advanced technologies in surface finish are developed. The ball burnishing technology of wear sleeve gives smoothened surface characteristics, which im-proves initial abrasive wear resistance, bearing rate, and residual compressive stresses in the surface layer of the wear sleeve. These parameters may significantly increase the life cycle of PTFE seal-ing knot. This paper recognizes the technology advances in wear sleeve manufacturing and gives directions for further research and discussion

Chip Forming Process in Machining of the Different Structure Stainless Steel with Different Type of Nanocoated Cutting Tools

    No full text
In this paper one turning insert coating technology, which called Duratomic, is choosen to study the 420 and 304 stainless steel machining process. Coated metal carbide inserts characterize high wear resistance, chemical stability, high hardness and its allowing for highen machining speeds. This multilayer coating technology ensure that each layer has its own function, toughness, wear resistance and reduced friction
